Colt M16A4 5.56x45 assault rifle 3.1.0

A small number of M16A4s was donated to UNTAR mission by US Government, and someone else got a hand on them.

Well, I planned to add more content, but too bad I am not the person to innovate. Wanted to add 3 presets and actually add them to traders, but looks like I need someone else to do the homework so I can steal repurpose it.


This mod adds 6 items to the flea market: M16A4 lower (custom textures), KAC M5 RAS handguard and USGI A2 stock and handguard (all from Insurgency: Sandstorm), as well as 2 barrel options that are compatible with handguards (vanilla ones would definitely clip with handguards in gasblock area very noticeably). All custom parts are compatible with vanilla uppers, A2 stock requires Colt "A2" buffer tube.


If you are using any version other than the ones for A6 and below, disregard my comments for A6 version. As of now, this mod has the following features:

  • Colt M16A4 5.56x45 assault rifle (available from ragfair)
    • 4 presets: Default (PK L1), Retro (Mechanic L1), MWS (PK L2), SAM-R (Mechanic L3)
  • 1 M4A1 preset: Retro (Mechanic L1)
  • 2 barrel options:
    • 20" barrel (rifle-length gas system) - default for all presets, available from PK L4
    • 18" barrel (rifle-length gas system) (PK L4)
  • 4 handguard options:
    • A1 "triangular" handguard: part of Retro preset, available from Mechanic L2
    • A1 shortened handguard: part of M4 Retro preset, available from Mechanic L1.
    • A2 "round" handguard: part of default preset, available from Mechanic L2
    • KAC M5 RAS handguard - part of MWS and SAM-R presets, available from PK L2
  • 3 stock options:
    • A1 stock - part of Retro preset, available from Mechanic L2
    • A2 stock - part of other 3 presets, available from PK L2
    • CAR-15 4-position collapsible stock - part of M4 retro preset, available from PK L1
  • A1 pistol grip - part of Retro preset, available from Mechanic L1
  • XM16E1 flash hider - part of Retro preset, available from Mechanic L1
  • M16A1 receiver + rear sight - part of Retro preset, both available from Mechanic L2. By default compatible with all the scopes that can be mounted on the standalone carry handle + the next attachment.
  • Carry Handle Scope mount - available from Mechanic L2. Allows you to attach other scopes to the M16A1 receiver.
  • STANAG 20-round magazine - available from Mechanic L1. Should be compatible with vanilla STANAG-compatible weapons.
  • English and Russian localization with English one being used by default on all localizations.

License:

KAC M5 RAS handguard model and textures (+ A2 handguard and stock from the previous versions) were taken from Insurgency: Sandstorm

Current A2 HG and stock, as well as the A1 carbine handguard, CAR-15 stock, magazine and scope mount were taken from Call of Duty: Warzone

All "retro" parts were taken from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

    Fixed issue, when you use "EnableAllAvailableOffers" option in AkiConfigurator, you get an error and can't start the server.

    Added the "hotfix" by JustNU, so no lower with custom textures for now. Hopefully not for long, but I become easily disheartened by errors like the one with this gun, so *shrugs*.

  • whenever you come back to Tarkov, (I saw the comment about lacking motivation for it so I understand if not wanting to) would it be possible to add an attachment slot for say foregrips to the A2 round handguard? or the A1? also I use your mod on my heavily outdated 2.2.3 version am happy to say they work great! I do hope you come back to Tarkov! can say I miss modders like you on this platform

  • damn shame this and none of ur other mods have been updated, I remember using this when it came out so it sucks it's not for 3.0.0., My love of the classic XM/M16A1 is only balanced by my distaste of the M4's

    • some nice people have updated my mods before. i just can't find motivation to work on anything tarkov-related despite having grand plans for remaking some of my mods.

    • yeah I noticed that all of them came in a pack for 2.3. it'd be cool to see what grand plans u have but I get not having motivation. I'll just have to keep my eye out :)

  • This mod works with v2.3, but you'll have to add something like "akiVersion": "<3.0.0" to the package.json of this mod.

    Also add the rail adapter to the rail carrying handle for the funnies

    • I tried. standalone carry handle is both incompatible with a lot of scopes and installation of the rail mount does not change it for some reason, and it also has the mount mispositioned due to the way I ported it.

  • Love the retro A1 stuff. With the upper, I can make Gary Gordon's CAR-15 from Black Hawk Down (minus the light taped onto the standard grip) or make an M16A1 from Vietnam.

    Sadly, it does have 1 problem. There is no rear sight aperture in the upper. As a result, you can't aim properly with just iron sights. You need an optic mounted onto the rail you added for the upper.

    • There is a rear sight, it's just a separate part you have to attach to the upper

    • Interesting. Why would it be separate? It's integrated like the rear sight on the removable carry handle for the M4.

      Also. If this is supposed to be the M16A1, it should have full auto. The M16, M16A1, and M16A3 (not issued to line units) all had full auto. It was the m16A2 and m16A4 that had burst.

      But this is me being a bit nit pickey, as I was trained on the M16A4. 8o

      and about the M16A1. well, there is already a full auto lower that is M4A1, so I just felt that adding a new full auto lower that would differ from M4 in terms of appearance only would be pointless.

      Now choose which mod you want more :)

    • I found the problem. The conflict between m16a4 and super module caused this error.
