There is already a similar mod that allows you to enable flashlights on your helmet and change their modes, except there is one major problem with it: all helmets and flashlights are hardcoded meaning that if BSG release new flashlight at some point or some mod will add new helmet, old plugin won't work. So I've decided to come with my solution to it and here it is.
Standard keybinds are: Y to turn flashlight on, Shift + Y to change its mode. You can edit these settings in the built-in ConfigurationManager which opens with F12 in the game.

After you downloaded .zip archive, unzip it somewhere and drag&drop SamSWAT.HelmetLights.dll into the BepInEx/plugins/ folder.

im on version 3.6.1 and it doest work (i click the button and nothing happens i even tried to change the keybind) i dont know if its outtaded or not but queoting the authtor "Just because I didn't change tag on the hub doesn't mean it's not working." so i doubt it
Some people have said it works on 3.5.5, but I have yet to get it to work at all on 3.5.5. As far as I can tell, none of my mods should be conflicting with it.
Figured it out. Only some lights actually work on the helmet without issue. Other times, if you have a secondary with a light, activating your helmet light will actually turn on your secondary light. So put your secondary in your bag or don't put a light on it if you want to use a helmet light.
Don't listen to the comment below. Just because something 'seems' like it's working, doesn't mean it can't and won't cause you problems. This is a client mod, they are much more finicky and temperamental than server mods. Do NOT mismatch them with your SPT version.
if you have a secondary weapon it'll turn light on that instead - if you got a pistol with light attachment check bellow, you might see light on your right leg

mod randomly stopped working for me, guessing its a mod conflict so imma have to try and sort that out
cant for the life of me figure out why the mod stopped working, i tried removing every mod i added since adding this mod but its still not working

As for the problem, most likely there was a single time bug that caused mod error, because I did some testing rn and it works fine on my end

It is working for me with 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 ; as Traveler said, make sure you're not moving or pressing any other key binds!
