Custom Camera Recoil 1.0.9

This modification allows you to change the camera recoil on guns by a relative percentage, or remove it entirely.

Custom Camera Recoil

Description:

When you fire a weapon, you might notice that not only does the gun move but the whole screen kind of shakes and jumps. This shaking and jumping of the screen is what's called "camera recoil". It's like the game is trying to simulate how when you fire a real gun, the force makes your hands and your view shake a bit. This makes the game feel more real and challenging, because you have to control the weapon not just by aiming, but also by handling how it "kicks" and moves your view around when you shoot.

To install:

  1. Decompress the contents of the download into your root SPT directory.
  2. Open the CustomCameraRecoil/config/config.json5 file to adjust configuration options.
    • The configuration file is in JSON5 format. The file extension is not a mistake. Do not rename it!
  3. Leave a review and let me know what you think.

Issues?

  • Version 1.0.9

    Updates:

    • Made updates for SPT v3.7 compatibility.
    • The configuration file structure has been updated. You can not use your old versions!
    • Configuration file is now even more strictly validated.
    • Refactored mod structure to be cleaner.
    • Updated npm dependencies to be in-line with SPT core.

    Notes:

    • This version should be compatible with any SPT v3.7 release.
    • The configuration file is in JSON5 format. The file extension is not a mistake. Do not rename it.

    Issues?

  • Version 1.0.7

    Minor Updates:

    • Refactored and cleaned up the code.
    • Made debug logging more useful.

    Notes:

    • The configuration format (and file extension) has changed since the last version. If you are upgrading, you must manually copy over any adjustments you've made to the new configuration file. The "json5" file extension is not a mistake.

If you experience any problems, please submit a detailed bug report.

  • Version 1.0.6

    Updates:

    • Updated for SPT v3.5.0 compatibility.
    • Updated the default configuration to remove all camera recoil (like the images in the overview). Can still be modified to be relatively adjusted.

    Notes:

    • This update is not compatible with SPT v3.4. You're still able to use v1.0.5 of this mod for SPT v3.4, but no support will be provided or updates made to help with legacy versions of SPT.

If you experience any problems, please submit a detailed bug report.
