What does this mod do?

This mod makes getting headshot more... headshotty, by instantly fading your screen to black when you get killed with a headshot.

INSTALLATION

Like any other mod, just drag and drop the BepInEx folder into your SPT folder.

  • Whenever I die to an explosion or a headshot, I just ragdoll and don't actually die. I can't do anything but look at the ground until I alt F4 and re enter raid. No black, No text, nothing but ragdoll.

    • clip? errors? config? enabled mods? anything to help me debug the issue? feel free to send me a message request on discord

  • On ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio the black screen doesn't quite cover the whole screen, I believe you can see what looks like the outline of an eye at the top and bottom of the screen. Any chance of ultrawide support?

  • Honestly I prefer the original version where it just cuts to black. No sound, no text, no music, just... complete void for 5-6 seconds. It's so horrifying every time.

  • The "deathstrings.json" file included can edit some custom text for like the dying of headshot or dying of a explosion but could there be ever possible to include lines for custom text option dying in a specific map for example or dying to some specific boss?

    • your screen only becomes dark if the headshot is fatal

    • no but it isnt too hard to get it working with 3.8.3 since it was originally written for that version, just have to change around some references and dependencies

    • If it were real, just one shot to the head would break your neck and kill you.

    • if your getting shot in the head your neck breaking is moot point bruh...? and if your argument is that getting headshot w a helmet would break your neck that's false. there are videos on youtube of desert storm soldiers getting headshot by dragunov 54R and laughing moments later with there battle buddies about getting shot in the head.

    • i havent been shot in the head but i think you'd see black if you were shot in the head

    • Just to be that guy, buddy of mine took a round to the helmet in AFG. Knocked him uncon, but didn't really snap his head back. Thankfully the round skirted the inside of the fabric cover and out the other side. Getting shot in the head area doesn't defacto break your neck or cause massive injuries like that, that logic lies right beside the whole "Even if you miss with a .50 it'll tear their limbs off".

    Personally, I wish it were adjustable. Only about half

    • This only occurs when a headshot kills you I'm pretty sure, not when you get headshot and survive

  • Great job! So since youve figured it out, how hard would be it to make the fadeout longer/configurable?

    Or instant for everybody part?

      I really liked the effect of "death" in buckshot roulette:

      You see just a tiny bit of flash and sound of the shot and it all instantly cuts out to black.

      But sometimes I like to see my character falling down and slowly blacking out like in body cam

      Hope to see it with this mod!
