Overview

Headshots will trigger the concussion/tinnitus effects if the bullet is blocked by helmet armor.

Like Live EFT, tinnitus will only occur if you do not have a headset equipped.

Install

Extract directly into the SPT folder. The plugin can be located in BepInEx/plugins/.

Background

From my testing, concussions/tinnitus caused by gunshots to the helmet are currently not working in 3.9.8 or its respective EFT version. This mod restores the effect, for concussion lovers like myself.

Configuration

Hit F12 to configure concussion duration and concussion strength (default: 0.75 strength and 5 seconds duration), as well as turning tinnitus on/off.

    • Fixes the bug where the concussion effect does not occur after armor takes damage on the helmet. This should fix most of the issues where helmets/additional helmet armor block damage but no concussion effect happens.

  • Is it just me wants to know the author sain's configuration parameters?

    • I play on default settings with the following options changed:


      - Bots Aim for Center Mass OFF

      - PMCs Aim for Head ON / 100%

      - Hard PMCs in Swag/Donuts (this is just my personal preference)

    • currently (at least in my testing experience) you get concussed/tinnitus only from sources other than bullets, like grenades or using golden star balm. this mod just adds it back if you receive gunshots to the helmet

    • but wouldnt you get concussed if your helmet stopped and bullet irl? i though tarkov strived for a realistic approach?

    • Concussions on helmet dinks were definitely a thing in live EFT although I haven't played live in many months. But AFAIK they aren't currently working in 3.9.8 or the corresponding version of live EFT, which is why I made this quickfix mod

  • Does this affect masks too? Also I was shot in the fast mt mandible and concussion did not trigger for me.

    • Thanks for commenting this, I retried testing with face shields and mandibles, and did not experience concussions on headshots that hit those areas. It looks like additional helmet armor is not triggering concussions right now while shots directly at the helmet trigger them. I'll see if I can trigger the effects if those take damage.


      Masks work as I tested with the CQCM ballistic mask and experienced concussions every time the mask was shot.

    • Yep! I'm planning to update the version tomorrow so that there's a config to change concussion strength/duration and disable/enable tinnitus. For now, if you wear headsets in-game, tinnitus should not affect you if you get hit in the helmet/mask.
