Clear all or some trees and foliage to open sightlines and long distance targets.

Tired of being surrounded by vegetation and very few long distance targets? Can't see where Knight is beaming you from through the branches? Call in the groundskeeper to remove all or a percentage of them.


Removing all:


Removing only some (50%, 75%, 90%)


In F12->FoliageDesolation settings:

  • Decimate Foliage shortcut, removes percentage of currently active foliage; default LControl+LAlt+F2
  • Decimation Percentage, 0-100 percentage of foliage to remove; default 100
  • Reset Foliage shortcut, reactivates all deactivated foliage; default LControl+LShift+F2
  • Toggle Slowness shortcut, toggles slowing down when passing through bushes; default LAlt+LShift+F2


Known issues:

  • After removing bushes there are objects that still exist to slow you down when passing through where they were. There doesn't appear to be a programmatic link between them to find and disable those objects. Use 'Toggle Slowness' to turn them off if desired.
  • The dense foliage is a method of improving graphical quality and removing it makes large nature terrain look like early Counter Strike.

    • I didn't measure but I doubt it would be significant. Now I'm curious though

    • Removing or reducing vegetation can generally improve FPS/performance as your graphics card has less to materialise. However, if your system has a really old or lower-end graphics card you probably won't see much improvement. With this mod I saw a marginal improvement, but for others it'll be different.
