Replaces weapon sounds with beefier sounds

Replaces in-game weapon sounds with beefier sounds. Audio plays a big role in immersion and I wanted a change of audio environment. Sounds are a combination of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019, Call of Duty Cold War, Warface, and my own recordings and remixes. Throughout my learning experience, I am getting better and learning more about audio and modding. This mod uses some default sounds for some weapons/movements. Changes are forthcoming and additions are planned.

Some Features:

  • Weapon raise/holster
  • Reloads
  • Charging handle
  • Firing loud/silenced
  • Mag in/out, mag pull in/out from vest
  • Multiple sounds for one movement/rotating sounds that give variety

    Fixed

    • Fixed missing SR1MP weapon failure sounds
  • patch for the mod to work on SPT 3.7.5 or below .

    • Works with 3.8 without breakage using this patch. Thanks.

  • Is it possible to configure the mod so only certain weapons are modded? I'm not sure which files are needed or not.

  • still working?

    • on newer versions of SPT, this mod breaks the Glock 17 and the mp-133 I believe

  • How do you install this exactly?

  • Could the suppressed MDR 7.62 have a beefier sound than the 5.56 version? Right now they're both the same weak "pew".

  • Any plan's on 3.3.0?

  • Hello! I downloaded this mod, it is incredibly good! Anyway, I was playing a raid and i found a tt pistol from a scav that i killed. But when i shot it, there was no sound! i could only hear the bullet ricochet around the walls. Also, some guns get glitched. like mp-133, when i started using it i noticed that barrel overlaps with the gun itself. And there was no sound sync. When i reloaded it, the animation didnt start and my guy was just holding the gun like nothing happened. He was loading the gun but there was no animation basically.

If you wonder, i was playing on factory, spt aki 3.1.0 19078

  • This works for 3.2.1? Or any plans to update it to that version and add sounds to the new weapons?

    • It should but haven't tested it yet. Planning on updating for new sounds

      Heart 1
    • Thanks for the answer, looking forward to test the new sounds

  • AK sounds are a bit too overpowering atm. Thought I was getting shot at by a kord but no, ak-105.

  • I love this mod a lot, could you please update to 2.3 if you get the chance? <3

    • I just updated it so it should work

  • Very interesting. Once the reported error with distance is fixed, I'll be sure to try this out.

  • Extremely good mod, manages to somehow make Tarkov's gunplay even more satisfying.

However, I have noticed that on certain weapons, they make no audio at a distance. The weapons I can confirm have this issue are any full-size 5.45 AK (Can not confirm for the AKS-74Us), the AK-101/102, and the DT MDR (5.56 variant, can not confirm for the .308 variant). When an enemy with this weapon fires at you from seemingly anything beyond point blank range, all you can hear are impacts and bullet snaps, no actual report from the weapon, even if the weapon in question lacks a suppressor. I play on AKI 2.2.1 and my Tarkov version is 0.12.12.16584.

    • Thanks for reporting this. i'm taking a look into this and will release a fix. I think i screwed up on the bank files or i need to fix dependencies on the bank files.

    • I've been testing this and it possibly is an issue with the game itself, not the mod. When testing this on live, i get the same issues. Will keep an eye on this though. I checked my bank files and sounds for distant firing sounds and they're all kosher. So just like how the mp-153 unholster sound is missing in live (BSG messed it up and hasn't fixed it in the coding of the gun), i think this is a bug in that version of the game.

I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled

  • I Really like the mod, any plans on updating to AKI 2.2.0 ?

  • I have a little problem, sometimes some of the weapons sound doesnt work like it is firing just air.I witnessed this when i shot TT pistol that i get from scav bot.And sometimes i hear battles away from me but one of the fighters firing air i mean there is no sound of the weapon just the sound of the bullet hits to the metal or places like that.

    • What EFT version and AKI are you using?

    • I got the same issue on AKMS and TT Pistol where there's no firing sound, this is on EFT ver 0.12.12.15.17107 and AKI ver 3.6.0, AKMSN works fine though, idk if this happens on other weapons

  • I dig the beefiness of the sounds because it's a change of pace and firing guns in real life has more bass than is usually depicted in video games, but way too many sounds have short/cut-off tails. The Saiga shotgun (suppressed and unsuppressed), RSASS, APS, and many others have a super abrupt tail. Also, many of the action sounds like unequipping your weapon/pulling out a mag are overly loud.

Otherwise, I dig the sounds. I especially like the M4/AKs as I think the vanilla sounds for those are pretty weak. Will definitely keep my eye on this for future updates in case those issues are corrected.

    • Sometimes the headsets/ear protection you use will cause the sounds to be super loud or very soft. Try wtih different ears and without any and see how they sound

  • sounds awesome just one sound I don't like is the m9 I liked the original tarkov sound for the m9 sounded more real.

  • Great mod! Especially the suppressed weapon sounds are on a new level.

I noticed two bugs however, the sound for checking the chamber on the M4 and the 416 is maybe half the volume of the other sounds and for the SA58 it's completely missing

    • Thanks, I'll work on changing the SA58. I am trying to find a replacement of the original check chamber sounds. Haven't found one that matches the timing and quality of sound yet.

  • Thank you!
Will u update Core Sound Mod too?

    • Yes

  • Any idea when you are gonna update to 2.1.0?

    • waiting for an update myself too. I tried editing the package.json file to 2.1.1 with no luck.

    • I've been working on updating this to the newest dependencies. I have been running into issues so progress has taken longer than usual. Should be done by Christmas!

  • Any chance of a showcase video? I can do one (unlisted of course) if you don't have time

    • If you can do one, that would be great! Ping me with a link and i can get it listed on here :). Real life is keeping me busy lately so I definitely need the help.

  • CMMG mk47 is spinning after installing your mod

    • Check your version

    • Latest

    • You are using the incorrect client for the mod. Make sure you're on the latest client, latest aki. Can guarantee you are not on one of these or you are using a conflicting mod

    • What mod could conflict it when its BSG added weapon?

    • Tell me what your client version and aki version is

  • I think there seems to be a problem with the SamSwat L85 mod. Using your mod makes the model strange and having it use the MDR model.

    • Use the latest version

    • Thanks.

  • Read through all the comments and nobody seems to have the same problem I do. So I made an account just to make you aware of a bug that makes the hideout and raid loading screens load indefinitely and have to be closed via task manager. I deleted and redownloaded 1.4.2 but the problem seems to persist, when I delete the mod I can play normally.

However, in the one raid I managed to load into, the weapon sounds are (in my opinion) better than vanilla sounds and too good to pass up. Hopefully I'm not the only one with this problem :(

    • Thanks for taking the time to make an account and provide feedback! This is very odd. Which AKI and client version are you on? Are you using any other mods? This may be a conflict with my mod and something else

    • AKI version is 1.5.1, not exactly sure what client version so Im just gonna say 127.0.0.1 and hope I dont get laughed at. Other mods include BSG 12.11 Content, Carl-KalashDuet (AK-12 & 15), MakesSense, FAMAS, L85A2, M1014 and SCAR-H.

      P.S. You're odd xP

    • Actually I just realized there are newer versions of the AKI program, I appreciate the reply nonetheless

  • Don't want to leave a bad review, but wanna give a heads up for the connoisseurs of firearms sound authenticity: even though EFTs default gunshot sounds aren't the most realistic, at least the weapon handling aspect of the sound base is pretty much spot on. And in this mod switching fire mode on AKs sounds like the safety lever is made out of plastic.
Also: some of the sounds aren't trimmed properly, so some of them ending abruptly.
But to give the credit where the credit is due - I do like the weapon sling sound while holstering you primary. Although i can't say that it's better than the original, it's just different. Which is good.

    • This mod is in no way to mimic "real life" but is instead just a sound mod replacing with beefier COD sounds. Some sounds are from different games. Foley includes some of my own and some from CODMW/CW/MW-RM. For the weapons that have no tails, can you let me know which ones they are? There may be a chance that I did not code the tails properly, and so they may be missing.

      Thanks for the input

Any idea pretty new to this. I dont have any other mods installed.

    • I just did a clean install of my mod on a client and it works without error. Try deleting the mod, and then reinstalling from the latest version. LMK if you still get an error

  • Okay so now that I'm on the right mod, Five-seveN issue as stated on the core sounds.
While this mod is active, my arms go all over the place and I can't interact with anything. I asked about it on the SPT discord and JustNU suggested turning this off-- the Five-seveN went back to normal afterward

    • I see, it is an issue with the black version. FDE seems ok. Will upload a fix soon

    • 1.4.2 fix uploaded :)

      Thanks 1
  • Got reports of CMMG Mk47 Mutant Breaking when this mod is installed, might want to look into it

    • Just tested it out and works fine. Perhaps those people are using an old version. I've made a lot of fixes up to 1.4.1

    • Figured it out! 1.4.2 uploaded with this fix :). Thanks!

  • Would it be possible to differentiate the 7.62 and 5.56 version of the MDR?

    • Yes. If you listen closely, the 7.62 MDR version has a thumpier sound to it vs the 5.56. Maybe in the future i'll change the sound to something more substantial.

  • Tested and it works properly,i can recommend it to everyone to try it out,not for me personally, but i can see the work that has being done and im sure many people would love it

  • The mods breaks when I change to secondary. I can't even use the inventory or open doors XD

    • Not sure if this is related to my mod, can you open up a support ticket? We can trouble shoot from there to see if my mod is conflicting with another you have, or if it's something unrelated. Also, be sure you're using AKI 2.0 with the approved client.
