It took me a bit to understand what genre i think EFT and SPT fall into, a lot of my friends have considered this game a Extraction Shooter, but i think i found a perfect term to go alongside the mods that are in SPT's Website.
Simulation, from the Firearms and Attachments from either Real Life or Certain Games, to the Insurgency Sandstorm BRRRT Mod im too late to try since its non compatible with the current spt version and im unsure of how to or if i'd want to downgrade.
The fear and anxiety i've had over the past few days, even when taking in a set of EFT Codes that are on the SPT Website to download and getting a shitload of beginner aid from those drops and other mods, i've died left and right, and with runs where i've survived both in good health and in a absolute state of fear, misery and pain with a shitload of loot, today i've broken to writing notes on paper from Medical Equipment, Ammo Types and What to Look for as well as sorting together between a Low-Mid Tier Medical Kit to Consistently Run as well as a High-End Set to keep in mind for when my 1660 ti and i5 decide not to give me 25 fps on customs and larger maps than Factory, im taking the next few days away from the game to dedicate to learning things, noting them and also coming down from a adrenaline high i've only felt when i've had to actually defend myself.
I love and hate this adrenaline from this game and i think im already addicted after setting up SVM, and with SAIN Bots (im trying to see whats causing my fps being so low, debating the SVM Set-up since loose and container loot isn't exactly exxagerated so it can't be too large of a amount of small items around the map for my set-up, 16gbs of ram btw for extra context.) i've had the Worst and Best times of my life.
It's something about the balance between Misery, Loss and Happiness and Achievement that i think keep making me come back over the past week or two after buying EFT specifically to try SPT since i like to mod my games a lot, and im Scripting for L4D2 atm and wanna work my way up to modeling Firearms and Attachments when i can afford a build that can do so at a mildly better quality.
The large quantity of items in the game, plus the Guns, finding a good Vortex UH-1 and some good 300. Blackout (when i get back into things, i'll progress more so i can get into 300. Blackout Variants like CBJ, AP and M62, i dont often do Tracer rounds in games if they're an option, i wanna see if Tarkov can change that for me :'b) makes it where im instantly in Defense and Get the Fuck Out of Here Mode
If i were to play Arma or DayZ, i'd imagine those now being the Only Games to give me this type of Rush while actually making me take into account a lot of real life aspects such as self service in medical aid, keeping up with both your Hunger and Thirst while not draining your supply till its empty.
Even the Stash was a lot to take in, and the Codes from the SPT Mod in particular gave me a handful of Cases that made me realize i really, Really like to sit and Organize Stuff and mess with my Guns to the Fullest Extent that i can.
I have sat for i think 3 hours one time, and i have absolutely no problem with this as while its starts to pit anxiety in me for the run, sitting and contemplating a loadout for a certain map or scenario makes me think on what can go down during the run, where spawns may be, whether or not the difficulty will allow for a decent quantity of High Tier Enemy's with Areas to Avoid if i dont have any sort of quest to do there.
The screenshot above is just a funny mod that adds the ability for the AI You've killed in SPT to Message you random shit talking, in this case, Literally.
I wanted to post this and say Thank you to SPT for being an actual thing, if i hadn't found a Starvox video one day and a bunch of Helmet-Cam Reshades from Anti-Fart Meister on YouTube (god i love that name ) and thank you to the Mod Makers for coming together , hope we continue to see another SPT Update whenever it happens, im content on 3.9.8 honestly as a beginner in EFT as a whole. Hope y'all have some good Scav/PMC Runs
