Return of the Sniper Scav 1.0.0

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.9.X
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

A simple mod that returns our cheeki breeki friends to their eternal posts on shoreline's power station and woods's sniper rock.

NOTE: This mod should not be needed on SPT versions 3.5.5 and later as the SPT devs have fixed these sniper scavs not spawning!


The only things this mod changes is the shoreline power station sniper scav and woods sniper rock sniper scav. They should both spawn now, as in vanilla SPT it seems they do not because BSG removed them from the offline mode.


Note that this might have a performance impact due to the presence of an additional bot.


Also I do not know how this interacts with other mods that tackle bot spawns. They might also have fixed this issue themselves!

Installation:


Download the .zip file, extract all, and add the folder MC-SNIPERSCAV to your user/mods/ folder in SPT. Make sure it is just the folder with all of the contents, not a folder with another MC-SNIPERSCAV folder inside of it, else the mod will probably throw an error!


The directory should look like this:


/user/mods/MC-SNIPERSCAV/


and not this:


/user/mods/MC-SNIPERSCAV_X.X.X/MC-SNIPERSCAV/



Uninstalling:


There should be no special consequences to removing this mod, simply delete it from your mods folder!

  • Im not seeing sniper scavs. I have 3.7.1 and have Never seen one sniper. Will this mod work on my version of SPT? Im at the quest requiring kill 5 sniper scavs and havent seen one ever.
    Now, I more often than not have chosen no bosses in the offline settings menu. Is that removing snipers too? Because i could do it just for that.

    Im newbie learning with SPT as this excellent add to offline mode, so Im trying to go easy while im seriously deficient in skills for live, lol. But having fun learning how these maps and quests work.
    Gonna get to some stage where i start agin with harder choices...

    • I have to be honest, I do not know. Haven't had enough time to play lately I'm afraid.

  • The sniper scavs don't spawn with some of the current spawn mods is there anyway to update this to bring them back again?

    • I will look into it but can't make any promises. If they spawn on unmodded SPT it is even less likely but I did notice on Shoreline that the power station scav wasn't there so I will look into it.

  • Love this mod. Definitely helped to get my killing sniper scavs with a bolt action done. Just sucks you're not able to get the ones on customs back, but great mod for sure!

  • Any chance to get the boys back up on the customs towers aswell?

    • Unfortunately looking at the json it would seem the same fix would not work and I have no idea why they would not be spawning up there. :(

  • May i ask in since when BSG removed them?! Cause in 3.5.0 they are there. Sorry for kinda Offtopic.

    • They removed the power station scav quite a while ago now and they just removed the woods scav relatively recently. I don't know exactly when these things happened, unfortunately.


      Also let me say again that they removed them only from the offline mode, which SPT is based on, not live raids with other players.
