To be honest, I am not a modder at all, just don't want Carl's treasure buried in history. The mod was updated by using Dueleus's mod structure.


Installation: Download the .zip file, extract all, and add the folder "Carl-QHB" to your user/mods/ folder in SPT

    I just wanted to look up at my logs and see what's going on with that thing that i rarely see

    • probably install wrong or have some conflict issue with other mod, pls try a clean installation

  • is there anyway you can share the unseralized files, id like to add some pre-existing attachments that would go on typical M4's such as handguards, Stocks, Charging Handles, etc

    • nevermind, i thought i had to add the item id's to your mod to add other attachments in the game to the gun in this mod, essentialy i wanted to add more attachments that are compatable to this weapon as there is only 1 stock and 2 handguards this weapon can have on, i figured out i can just add the id's of various attachments to one of the JSON files instead

      essentialy i figured my own issue out.

  • The "cherry bomb" muzzle device in this is extremely overtuned and could do with some nerfs. For any gun that can take it, it is the best in slot by an extremely large margin. It has an insane -16% recoil, when basically all other ones are between 1 and 4 5 and 11 (I was comparing the wrong ones. It's still overtuned though).

    • I'll probably tweak it, since we run a private server with a friend group. It's balanced like an AK muzzle device, but is used mostly on AR platform weapons or weapons that use AR platform muzzle devices.

    • From what I can tell, that value got carried over from the original mod, and dates back to at least April of 2021 (which is before the major recoil increase from 12.12, the recoil reduction(s) around 13.5, and the recoil rework that came with 14).

      Since that version (1.0.1) had completely separate "cherry bomb" variants for 5.56, 7.62x51, and .300 blk, and the first two had "normal" recoil values (-4 instead of -16), my bet is that the original author tuned the rest of the parts so that they were reasonably in line with other similar AR parts at the time, and then tuned a .300 BLK specific version of the muzzle device so that this gun would still be fun/usable.

  • The mod includes 2 rails lengths that are both modeled as M-LOK (which matches Q's actual rails) but they appear to be set to use keymod attachments.

  • how do you go about updating these mods? is there a tutorial for it somewhere out there on the internet? I would love to update some other gun mods like the L85 and the Tavor from Nexus (the latter of which could also use an english localization lol).

    • unfortunately I am not sure if there has any tutorials for these codes, simply just go and give a try, talk to those genius in the community and discord, you can do it mate!


      Btw, Tron has created lots of tutorials on his YouTube channel. You may go have a look.

  • Love the mod! Is it possible in future versions to customize the stock of the weapon? I'd love to put a more traditional DDM4/Block II stock on it.

  • Just a heads up that if people just straight extract this to the mods folder, it causes errors and prevents the server from starting because it's expecting the filename to be just Carl-QHB and not include the version tag on the end. May want to pin that you need to rename the folder when you extract it to take off the version tag.

  • I'm having a really weird issue: On single fire the fire rate is fixed to a relatively low rate of fire and if you click faster than that it will shoot another bullet or two after you've stopped clicking

    • Known issue, but it is still not fixed. I thought I had already replied with this fix but i cannot see my post so I guess I did not. Got caught out a few times and died due to the gun being basically unusable in fights when on single fire.


      Easy way to fix it yourself is to go to the mod folder Carl-QHB in your SPT install. Then open folder database and then templates. Open the file items.json in notepad.


      On about line 218 you will see the text "bFirerate": 775,


      Above this add the line "SingleFireRate": 450,


      Should end up looking like this


      "RecolDispersion": 25,

      "SingleFireRate": 450,

      "bFirerate": 775,


      Save and play. Now the gun actually has a single fire rate set and you can fire the gun properly in single fire mode.


      The ST AR-15 mod has the same issue not having a single fire rate set so the game defaults to this slow fire rate when on single fire. Worse for that gun as it is single fire only. Do the same thing to fix that gun as well.


      Just bear in mind I am using these mods on 3.5.8 and not 3.6.1 so everything may not be exactly the same for everyone.

  • its nice to see someone keeping this lil mod alive. ive been wanting to make a feature update to it for a while now, and ive had assets ready for it since at least june, but between a fucked tarkov install and needing to relearn the mod workflow i probably won't get around to it for quite some time

  • Is there any way to make this compatible with SPT Realism's recoil changes? it goes sky high in the first 5 rounds for me.

    • You can go to Realism supporting threads and search my compatible code, I have posted there. You have to add those code in realism’s templates one by one.

    • might be an idea to add those as optional things in the zip.... ya know for ease for us people who is technologically stunted :-p

  • for some reason after downloading the option to change my magazines in the preset menu isn't available. Is this a bug perhaps with the mod?

  • you should upload pictures of the gun. Kinda hard to tell if the mod actually actually adds the gun in.

  • Can you fix mastery? Using this gun gives exp in Saiga exp mastery group instead of MCX mastery group, otherwise thanks for update

    If you don't know how I'm sure someone in SPT discord in modding channel can help to locate where it can be changed. I don't know myself as I'm fairly sure it's defined inside bundles as I don't see it in any other file, and I haven't worked with bundles.

  • Not sure if this was an issue of the original mod...but the single shot rate of fire sucks

    • emm... I have not touched any data related to the gun in the mod

    • See my new comment on how to fix the bugged single fire rate. Looks like I forgot to post this months ago when I originally fixed it. :(


      I don't remember this being an issue with the gun originally so maybe it is the newer versions of SPT need the single fire rate value set now, when before they did not.
