Trakatz
Wehn i download it only gives me an user/mods file. And the names dont change.
Nice idea and mod though
McDewgle Author
Yes. That is normal. Just drag and drop the user folder into your SPT directory as shown in the How To Install section of this mod page.
Same installation process as most of the mods on this website.
Trakatz
But this would delete all other mods wont it?
McDewgle Author
No. That's not how it works. FOLDERS do not overwrite each other, only FILES do. When you drag and drop the USER folder into your SPT directory, Windows will MERGE both USER folders together along with all of their contents.
If you do it right, you should see EASY AMMO NAMES in your user\mods folder.
Trakatz
Hm, I did it the same as in the video, but it the ammo names wont change.
Does the mod conflict with some other mods? Like ammo stats in desc.?
McDewgle Author
You need to close the game & server before installing mods.
sixiangyu
only use the mod for en?
Therkelsen
Skill issue fixer?
McDewgle Author
In a way, yes! But this mod also renames a lot of ammunition in the game to their real world counterparts that BSG was "inspired" by but spoofed the name to avoid copyright issues.
Also included are new descriptions for some of the ammunition
Therkelsen
Ah then it makes sense!
TangoMike13
Thank you. @McDewgle! Great mod, enjoyed it so much on 3.8x. Looking forward to 3.9x version, when it becomes available!
Varyable
Absolute insanity! Haha wow.. again, how come so many quality of life mods are just hidden throughout the rest guess cause you guys are always testing out ideas etc.. LOVE THIS it's crazy how much time this saves. THANK YOU
Darezi
Could it have any conflicts with the AMMO STATS IN DESCRIPTION mod?
McDewgle Author
Not that I'm aware of, have you tried?
Darezi
I tried and there are no issues so far. Everything is showing for both mods as it should!
SmoothMcD
Just noticed we're missing 9x39 FMJ (6576f96220d53a5b8f3e395e)
and 9x21 7U4 (6576f93989f0062e741ba952)
I can save you/anyone else some trouble:
McDewgle Author
Thank you for finding this! While adding this fix I also noticed some ammo boxes missing for 7.62x54mm. I'll add it to the next update
StarVox
Oh my gosh, thank you for this!
gFresh
is there a way to change the font size for the ammo's ?
McDewgle Author
Not that I'm aware of, sorry :<
Mashinich
Links to old versions of the mod do not work
McDewgle Author
If you're worried about backwards compatibility, the latest version should work just fine on 3.7.6
Director909
Hello my friend,
i tried to use mod, but it didnt work, no changes in shortcut ammo names.
I use mods "softcore", "ammo stats in description" and "loot value" - all of them implement features related to ammo browsing in inventory or stash. I think there is an incompatibility somewhere (my first thought it is softcore).
PS tried to change mod order, didnt help.
McDewgle Author
I'll look into that when I get the chance and let you know what I find
Mattdokn
I tried an install with just these mods and everything seemed to be working? Do you have any errors in your server console?
Mattdokn
Also is your game language in english?
Director909
> Also is your game language in english?
No. This matters, i guess.
Tried 1.0.7 still doesnt work, so. I need to have ENG version to run it. Case cracked.
Mattdokn
I'll work on a fix, sorry about that. I'm going to add a config option where you'll specify the locale you're using and that'll apply the new names to that language instead of only the English localization
McDewgle Author
I know I've pushed a lot of updates out in the past couple of days, mostly correcting minor errors in the naming scheme or fixing the download link, I hope it hasn't been too annoying.
Thank you so much for your patience with me, thank you for reporting all the errors you've found and I really hope you enjoy the mod
tiralyra
Hello, FYI the current download link leads to an item that Google says is in your trash
McDewgle Author
Fixed and thank you
TheXFR
in package.json
change the akiversion to -> 3.8.0 ( my was 3.7.6 and skipped all the mods )
McDewgle Author
SHIT! Good catch, fixed and thank you
UselessAqua
Quick question, is the "TT P" ammo caliber762x25TT supposed to be shortend to .45 M?
McDewgle Author
Fixed and updated, thanks for catching that!
HahaLongBoy
Love the mod, however i have a small gripe with the naming you have made for some of the ammo, for instance the 5.56x45mm NATO rounds you simply renamed them green, orange, red, black, steel and open tip same with the 4.6x30mm rounds, id like to point out that most players would refer to these as a already known shortened variant of their own, take the 5.56 rounds for instance, the green tip would not be green but simply shortened to M855, the orange tip to M856, the red tip to M856A1 or 56A1, The black tip to M995 and the AP to SSAAP, i feel this would be much better naming and stop any confusion, personally i don't think reinventing the wheel so to speak in this situation makes it easier to identify, if anything its making players such as myself have to relearn bullet names all over again, which is why i downloaded this mod to help make it faster when looting, im now taking longer to try and figure out what im actually grabbing.
TL;Dr, please name the bullets based off the actual names (in game) and not just by how they look its confusing and not helpful, this mod would be perfect if the names were just shortened from the actual names.
McDewgle Author
The original intent behind this mod was to create something that made the ammunition easier for me to identify so I made this mod with my personal preferences in mind. Some users on the SPT Discord enjoyed the changes, so here it is.
However, I did take the time to set aside instructions for anyone who wishes to change the naming system to something they prefer. It's quite easy actually, the entries for 5.56 ammo are at the very top of the config file. To revert the long names to their original simply delete the text between the two commas "" like so;
"Name": "5.56x45mm Varmageddon"
to
"Name": ""
Fun fact, the "Warmageddon" ammunition is based on a real cartridge designed for varmint-hunting hence the original name "Varmageddon" by the Nosler company. Same company that makes the 7.62x51mm "Nosler Partition" cartridge in Tarkov.
I also renamed many of the shotgun shells after their real life counterparts that BSG spoofed to avoid copyright infringement.
SlaveToTheGames
Absolutely love the idea, good work!
McDewgle Author
I appreciate that but please don't include this in your mod pack.
MasterAuger
Good Idea!!
