Legs the Trader 1.5.2

29 custom quests using VCQL that unlocks lower receivers/stripped weapons to mod from the ground up. This way your inventory wont fill with garbage. New Addition: Hats!

I was tired of buying fully built weapons and stripping them myself/filling my inventory with garbage mods. 29 quests that start at lvl 5 that will slowly unlock more weapons platforms. First weapons are 5.45 AKs and Adar. After levelling trader and completing quests, things like m4a1, 7.62 AKs all the way to MCX Spear at the very end are unlocked for purchase.

1.5.2 Release - 3.11 Compatible IF UPDATING from previous version follow instructions near bottom

Added:

  • Added BEAR Beanie upon request from a user is unlocked with the rest of the hats (will not show on quest screen).
  • Fixed Trader Image missing location.
  • Switched to mods folder not having a version number.


A couple days late but its been 1 year since Legs has been uploaded. I decided to do something special and took the time to learn the basics of Blender and Substance Painter. Also huge shoutout to the creators of the Tarkov SDK as none of this would be possible without it. For the one year release I made 3 hats for the boys that like drip and a backpack. They definitely are not high in quality but they are made with love hehe. They are unlocked with a quest at the beginning of Legs' quest chain. Pics are uploaded at the bottom.


I also wanted to say thanks to everyone in the community as its been awesome learning new things and helping others. This will also be the last major update for Legs as I need to move on and learn some new skills and don't want to sink all my "productive" free time into this anymore. I will continue to update legs to each spt version when I get a chance but I probably wont be adding new quests from this point on just quickly adding things through LL.

Dependency : Virtual's Custom Quest Loader


Install: If you have VCQL already installed just drag and drop into the root folder of SPT.

-This literally wont work without it.


Updating

When updating please remove the old Legs folder from user\mods... There is a good chance that if your updating within the same spt version quest progress may be lost. I have not tested this though so I do not know. Use Terkoiz Skipper if your ok with that. After version 1.5.2 this is not going to be an issue anymore as I have changed file structure.


Unlock: Completing Gunsmith 1 and reaching lvl 5 will grant access to his unlock quest titled: "A Friend in Need".


lvl2: requires level 20 and some spending.

lvl3: requires level 25 and some more spending.

Max: requires level 30 and lots of spending.

    I've doublechecked and the filename and path are correct

      this error goes away :)

  • getting an issue where the trader only sells the receivers of the weapons. I've tried turning off the "greatly increase trader stock" option in SVM that has fixed a similar issue for other traders and I'm not seeing a change.

    • Legs specifically sells the receivers so when modded you don't have garbage items in inventory. Sounds like its working as intended. I'll upload an assort picture later.

  • I am having trouble getting this mod to work, every time i install and launch the game with it it keeps deleting the leather backpack bundle file at 6288/6292 loaded. I do not know why this is happening or if it has happened to anyone else, help would be appreciated.

    • which version of spt? Can you give me a few more details?

    • I have the most recent version of SPT, 3.11.0-35392. I have other mods installed too, and they dont have issues, VCQL is also working as intended. The only problem I am having is that the leather backpack bundle file keeps deleting.

    • In all honesty I am not sure why that's happening. Does it tell you anything when its deleted or is it that the bundle just isn't loaded when you look at the item in game.

    • Does it hang up there? like it just stops loading or do you get to main menu? I assume you have already tried deleting the folder and replacing?

      Also might be worth downloading it again in case it got corrupted somehow.

  • I've been using the mod with a friend and we quite like it, we only use it for the quests since we're playing hc rules with barter trades only.


    A small side note, maybe change the folder name structure to just "house-legsthetrader" without version number, if people don't pay attention they might create different versions of the mod, which would probably cause problems.


    If I had just copied over the user folder I would've ended up with the folders house-legsthetrader-1.4.0 and house-legsthetrader-1.5.0 at the same time.

  • Is there a way to add custom weapons to quest weapon categories like in Scorpion?

    • Not built in no. Youd have to manually add the IDs of those custom weapons to the assort, quest assort, and quests. Didnt know scorpion has that ability. pretty coooool

    • Yeah it's a neat feature, perhaps if you ask Acid nicely you could pinch it for your mod!

  • Okay, so I can't really prove this in any way, but on part 2 of the DMR questline, I got stuck on 9/10 kills for some reason. I killed plenty of people after the nineth one, but it never dinged.


    Anecdotal context:
    I was using an SR-25 at night time Interchange. I got in a big fight at the start that got me most of the way there. Checked and saw 9/10, so I stopped worrying about it. About two hours later (still in the same raid) I extract with somewhere between 30 and 40 kills scavs and pmc and the last guy I kill was a PMC that I didn't get the dog tag from.

    I've no idea if my little story here is helpful, but figured I'd at least give you some info on what I was doing, since I really don't have anything else.

    • It def is helpful thank you, I will use the info you gave me to see if there is anything on my end that needs to be fixed or if maybe it is just something funky that happened. For whatever reason that questline has given me problems in the past so tbh wouldn't be surprised if I missed something or something got messed up. If I find an issue ill edit this in the future incase your interested lol.



      Edit: I think I figured out why, I somehow forgot to add to the quest information that you need headshots to complete the quest. So for example the task says

      "Eliminate PMCs with DMR"

      but should be

      "Eliminate PMCs with a headshot using a DMR"

      This is most likely why it seemed like no progress was made. So while yes you were killing PMCs they were not headshots and had no idea that you needed headshots lolol


      I checked to make sure all DMRs are set to be used in the quest as well and some other things and they were good. It will be fixed in next update. :thumbup:

  • When is legs unlocked? He shows up on trader tab but, he is still locked at lvl 19.

    • Quest: "A friend in need" unlocks Legs. It is available after completing gunsmith 1.

    • Either I did the quest and don't remember and he remains locked or the quest never came available.

    • strange. tbh since your already so far in Id just uninstall the mod. You could try uninstall/reinstall the mod but I'm not sure if that is gonna change anything. If you want to test, make a new profile and use Terkoiz Skipper to test it.


      If you do uninstall/reinstall just go to mechanic and look for the quest I mentioned.


      Ok so I did some testing myself and things are good. I did also test to see how it his handled when added mid wipe and the quest will populate to mechanic even if gunsmith 1 has been completed before Legs was installed. SO if you want do these things:


      - go to the user/mods folder and delete Housethelegs... folder.

      -reinstall legs mod/ and make sure to overwrite all.

      - go to user/mods/Virtual's Custom Quest Loader/database/quests and ensure that Legs_Quest.json is in that folder.


      When you launch the server and boot up the game again go straight to Mechanic and Look for the unlock quest "A Friend In Need". This worked for me using a profile that had already completed gunsmith 1 and was lvl 5.


      goodluck, if that doesnt work then it prob isnt worth the time.

  • is 1.1.2 the most recent 3.9 version?

    • 1.3.0 was uploaded for 3.9.4 so that should be the move. If you already have the one you mentioned the only difference is 1 added quest for the M1A.

    AK-105 is not compatible, is this because it's technically an AKS?

    • Mmmm It should be. Just tested it out myself to make sure. Make sure that there are not any mods on it that are not found in raid as that will disqualify the item until they are removed and fully assembled with a magazine. Not sure why but the quest is picky about that. I'll keep note of this and also check it on the next update.

    • This is a trader that sells stripped guns. There are quests to unlock better guns. :thumbup:

  • I have the mod installed correctly, and VCQL but Legs doesn't appear in my Traders list?

    • SPT\user\mods\house-legsthetrader-1.3.0. Is that there?

    • im getting the same issue, folder is there in mods

    • When server boots does it say mod is loaded or not at all? Also do you have any other traders installed? Also I would ensure you installed them correctly. Did a complete fresh install, mod works fine. If you have multiple traders it may be hidden behind profile when in trader screen. Have to go into the other trader select screen to get it until Trader Scrolling gets updated.

    • Reinstalled it and seems to work fine now

  • The "Dialed in" boltaction quests might be glitched or not progressing properly

    Used the SV98 on lighthouse and killed bunch of PMCs well over the required distance but still no progression.

    Yes, I tried all vanilla boltaction rifles (btw I have no modded weapons installed)


    Would be nice if you can take a look at it whenever you have time.

    • Went back and made a clean install. Very odd that is what is happening. When I ran through the quest chain everything was popping in correct order and showing with correct label. thanks for letting me know as ill keep an eye out for it in the future.

  • I tried to open the merchant. The merchant only sold 5 ak lower receivers.

    • have you done any quests? you'll unlock more weapons as quests are completed.

  • hello there so i have it installed in the right spot but when i get into the game the trader is locked like i cant access him at all its locked idk what to do.

    • it works like jaeger, there is a quest to unlock him. its given out by mechanic at lvl 5

  • You accidently have it set to quest available at level 1 just so you know and completing it grants you 10k XP leveling you all the way to level "4" from "1". Your wording in the latest version patch notes was making quest line available at level "4" so you can get an early start but even if your referring to the intro quest with "Legs" you can get that at Level 4 no matter what cause completing the mechanic quest grants you that xp regardless. Just thought maybe you meant to word it differently or maybe make it so the quest via mechanic is available at level "4" otherwise why even state it's available at level "4" at all? Cause if we complete the "friend in need" questline it grants access regardless? That's all. I changed it to being available at level "4" within the Legs_Quest.json file. Or you could also lower the xp granted via the "friend in need" questline so it isn't just granting you immediate access? That makes less sense though since the quest is to unlock him.

      Went in and changed the starting level requirement for the mechanic given unlock quest to lvl 5, and adjusted some of the earlier xp quest rewards and left the back 70% untouched.


      And to clarify the quests have to be done in order to unlock the next quest so when I say that the quest is unlocked at lvl 5 I mean the mechanic given quest. I have level requirements set to 1 on all subsequent quests because I was having a bug that would not let the quests appear without a level requirement. Didn't feel like making specific requirements after the first quest. After playing it legitimately through on FIKA with friends we were level 40 before we even saw the back 20% of the quests. :!:

    I grabbed the 1.1.1 version and then added the patch on top of it for 3.8.3. When launching server I get error stating: Mod House-LegsTheTrader is missing the akiVersion field, most likely due to being out of date and incompatible with the current version of AKI


    Did I grab a bad file or something?

    • hmmmm that’s interesting. Let me look into it and I’ll get back to you. Weird I checked the old file and it has the akiVersion field. Just to be sure. in the mod folder that you moved to user/mods in the houselegstrader folder is there a package.json?

      I linked it in my OP but basically I am unable to select "Complete" on the task "Nato Relations" as it is grayed out. I have found and turned in both Found in Raid M4/ADAR platforms.


      I'm using a host of mods to include Scorpion (lvl3), Painter (lvl3), and Artem (lvl2) and will include a screenshot of my load order (Giggity) and share any code that you may require if ya like.

    • So you turned in 2 Adars and 1 m4a1? If you have and its still giving you issues I recommend Quest Skipper mod to skip that specific task. I noticed the dialogue for the quest is wrong it should say 2 ADARS and 1 M4A1 and will be fixed with next upload!

    • yes was having issue with version numbers but that's the most current one. Next release i'm going to remove that from file names.

    • Are you looking under Mechanic for the intro quest? Named "Friend in Need"

    • Ok so I'm not sure if its just from the picture but is the mod correctly installed? From that pic he isn't showing up in the traders list with a locked icon like jaeger is at early wipe. Just make sure that folder "houselegstrader" is in the mods folder.

  • Anyone else having an issue where the trader's picture isn't loading? I tried uninstalling the mod, and reinstalling it, and even SPT itself but it still is not working...

      Couple of questions. Are you using spt 3.9 or 3.8?

      Is the Folder inside mods "house-legsthetrader-1.1.0" or "house-legsthetrader-1.1.1"?

      Is the trader image actually in there in the res folder?


      Also I uploaded a new version that cleans up some of the version numbers. Wondering if that is what the problem is but not sure.

    • The error resolves and trader picture displays if you rename the folder to 1.1.0

    • Yeah that was the first thing I went to check within the files. I should have cleaned up any remaining versions within it. Basically Im having to go back and fix the first few things that i ever did to make it future proof lol.

    • What was the last quest you completed? there should be a total of 21 quests including the one given by mechanic.

    • OK so yeah something is wrong. It looks like your running the older version which isnt a big deal, Youll just need to change one line in this

      just change it to

      "minStanding": 2.82


      That should on server restart and launch make it so that your now max rank.


      The new version has some more quests/guns and because of that rep now ends at 3.9 so I'm not too worried about it on the new file. Sorry my math must have failed me haha.

  • Is there a way to un do the patch if I uninstall legs? removing just the legs folder from mods leaves the unlock quest on Mechanic and after you accept it you can't accept any other quests.

    • Traders using VCQL do not have their quests in the Traders Mod folder. You'll need to go to VirtualsCustomQuestLoader\database\quests and delete the corresponding one there and also delete the one located in the locales. that would be a completely clean uninstall.
