Armor Reversion 1.0.0

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.9.X
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

Changes the hitboxes of armor plates so that they now fully cover the thorax and stomach, as well as the front and back.

First and foremost, the code for this mod came from the Sakura_Yuki's "GearProtection" mod (i.e. they are the original author), so show'em some love!

With that out of the way, this mod changes the hitboxes/ colliders of armor plates so that they cover the following areas:
- Thorax (ribcage_upper)

- Stomach (ribcage_lower)

- Upper back (spine_upper)

- Lower back (spine_lower)

This mod is intended for people who want the hitbox changes introduced in the 3.9.0 update but don't want to update to 3.9.0 (like me).

  • God bless you for this.

  • I'm looking for an Mod that does the exact opposite :D So playing 3.9 but having back to good armor from 3.8.3 is this somehow possible?

    Thumbs Up 2
    • fr i want a armor system that makes a reasonable amount of sense, hoping once realism is updated for spt 3.9 it has the same armor mechanics as in 3.8

  • Quick question, does this also work for soft armor?

    • AFAIK soft armor didn't have any change in new armor hitboxes. Since plate hitbox now covers all, soft armor is kinda useless in this situation, it only exsits for one reason: reducing blunt damage.

    • Awesome, thanks for the reply

  • just a question, does this work for mod plates as well?

    • Yes, It'll work on any armor plate, as long as my mod is loaded after the custom armor plate.

      Thumbs Up 1
    • awesome, good to know thanks for the mod then

  • Very interesting... Havent played with the new armor system yet, whats your opinion on it? Would you say it does a significant change?

    • I'd say that the updates on EFT revert it back to the old armor system (basically: more tanky, high pen ammo is meta), but now you can change the armor class of armors using plates. I believe that the armor plate update was great, but was incompatible with the player hitboxes, thus making armor less effective and not worth running.
