(weak, impotent, doesn't even try)

With Mod:

Let me know if you find any good new spots. I have only played woods.

  • Version 1.2.0

    • Increased max climb height a little more. Maybe higher than what is climbable is some situations, but imo feels better to try and fail than to not try at all.
    • Now works with the auto-vault system.
    • Created a config file with all the settings. Feel free to experiment and let me know.
    • I found the check that blocks climbing when in the air. Learning to make a client mod for it, but if any of you know how to patch a method hmu.
    • 3.8 version should be fixed.
  • Version 1.1

    • Dialed in climb height to prevent attempts on something you definitely won't be able to climb.
    • Added .zip for 3.8~. Untested please report any issues.
    • Removed jump inertia penalty for much smoother jumping. (gd BSG you are so stupid, that's not even how physics works)
    • Removed .js files that would cause issues for some.

    Important for 3.8 version!

    • In order for it to load, open the package.json file and change the version number to "1.0.1". Ty S0L1D_SN4CK for the report. Will fix it later.
  • Version 1.0.0

  • just wanna say i love this mod and have been using it since release on every playthrough i make

    • Thanks! Yeah it's crazy how well it just works

  • how do you install? you didn't include that anywhere on the mod page

    • Drag the user folder into your game's root folder.

    • i feel like it isn't working. any conflicts or spefice load order i should know about?

    • Unlikely to be a conflict or load order issue. Do you see it getting loaded in the server log?
You need to extract the zip you download, then extract the version for your game (3.8 or 3.9). Then you drag the user folder from that second .zip in your game's install folder.

You should then have a folder path of \user\mods\redlaser42-Increase Climb Height.

    • yea no its not loading at all but its in the folder, i dont get it

    • think i fixed it

  • Hey have had a issue with Scorpion while using this mod breaking quest
    https://discord.com/channels/875684761291599922/1235962436247355506/1289774629430366238

    • This issue was a Scorpion quest not registering headshots. I think it's unrelated, but glad you were able to progress.

  • question... so i download version 1.2.0 & it has 2 version ( 3.8 & 3.9 ), which one should i use? i'm using SPT 3.9.5

  • Thank you for backporting this to 3.8.x

  • what exactly does each thing in the config file do?

    • there is a config ReadMe with what I noticed each setting does. It as hard to tell what was changing for some settings, so I left most at default.

I bet there are config values that make climbing feel better than my defaults, which is why I made the config file, but I just got tired after 40+ config edits and restarts and was satisfied enough. Let me know if you change anything for the better.

    • oops, dont know how i didnt see that

      Thumbs Up 1
  • Well i would like to have vaulting in 3.7.x pepelaughing

    Happy 1
  • Unrelated but what mod are you using for the third person perspective in the example photos?

    • It's called the Third Person Mod, it's a fika mod.

      Heart 1
    • Ahhh sweet thanks! Had no idea there was an updated one on the Fika discord

  • Great work on this mod!

    hardcore parkour!

  • I know it's not a problem of this mod but maybe someone can fix it.

There are some railings that only allow you to go over them in one direction, but when you try to go over them from the other side it's like there's high wall.

  • can you add a config file to the mod

  • go to the discord's mod development channel, you'll find lots of help there on how to create the plugin

  • Thank you so much for the update, I take it you have not yet had any luck with the increase in jump height.

Thank you for the work it is appreciated ;)

  • This mod is so sick, I always look for crazy spots but the default vaulting is just complete dookie. Thank you.

    Thumbs Up 1
  • WOW this mod is insane. i hate normal vaulting since its kinda like this:
30cm high: jump over it with no problem
30.00001cm high: cant jump, get stuck trying 2104523059283 times

    Thumbs Up 1 Happy 2
  • Wonder if I can get on the shack by main bridge on customs with this now. Thanks man!

    Thumbs Up 1
  • This is awesome.

  • This is so great, I started playing a week or so ago and I was a little saddened with how much you couldn't climb. So many thanks!!

    Thumbs Up 1
  • Thank you for creating a great mod. Personally, I also want a feature that allows parkour while jumping.

    Thumbs Up 2
    • Same, I was looking for that switch but haven't found it yet. We will see.

      Thumbs Up 1
  • for 3.8.x version, if you have an error loading this mod try opening the package.json file and then change the line where says "version" : "whatever the number was here before" to "version": "1.0.1"

    Thumbs Up 1
    • Right: "version", not "akiVersion", like redlaser wrote in the comment.

      Thumbs Up 2
  • Fyi, the JS files for server mods are automatically generated by the TS files. If you remove JS files, it just means that you're allowing the server to generate new fresh JS files on launch.

    :)

    • true, but you know mf be out here trying to run linux

    • Uh, I don't run Linux so I had no idea that that had any bearing on it.

      RIP

  • yeeeeeeees thank you for making this i hate how you cant climb anything above your fuckin shins

    Thumbs Up 1
  • Any chance this works on 3.8.3?

    • This version won't. It's not impossible to backport, but what's holding you back from 3.9 at this point?

    • This is the longest run my guys have had and I'm not quite ready to make them wipe.

Also, there's a pretty solid stream of bugs with other mods that rushed to release a 3.9 compatible version.

    • I hear that. I'll see what I can do.

    • No issues if not, but I do greatly appreciate you looking into it.

It's probably the only thing my guys miss about our Arma server haha. We have some insane modded jump height.

    • Would also appreciate a 3.8.3 version
3.9.x doesnt offer anything worth wiping progress over.

      Thumbs Up 1
  • I am doing parkour speedruns from now on

    Thumbs Up 1
  • You magnificent bastard.

    Happy 2 Thumbs Up 1
  • add this to my mods setup

    Thank you!

    Thumbs Up 1
  • Thank you for this. Is there any chance that you can also maybe adjust the jump height, like with the old elite strength jump capabilities.
