Live Like Experience - A SAIN Preset
Discord Thread
- Provides manageable Scavs. They aren't usually fearsome warriors, but ignore them long enough and they might get lucky.
- PMC's are a threat. A healthy mix of Chads and Normal players. They will be an issue.
- Bosses and followers exist to be a challenge.
- AI hearing is turned wayyyy down, the goal is to keep them from starring at walls and sitting in cover forever.
- AI has some minor map specific tuning. For example, labs will see must more aggressive play than shoreline.
Overall this preset aims to provide a "Live Like Experience". Some raids will be easy, some raids you'll run into a super sweaty giga chad. Boss fights should be a challenge while scavs should usually be easy kills. I'm a believer of "if you're surviving every raid because the fights are a joke than it's not fun" camp, so expect to die sometimes.
This preset is what I play with, I'm a 30 something dad gamer with a military background. So the goal is fun, semi-realistic, and not soul crushing.
Install
1. Drag and drop like the below image.
2. In-game press F6 to open the SAIN menu and ensure Live Like Experience is selected. Click save in the top right.

NOTE - This fixes a bug where bots were taking an extremely long time to see things. This will make this preset noticeably more difficult.
Vision
- Bots now see things in real time and not at an 80% reduction (Bosses/Guards/High end pmc's are a tiny bit faster)
- Bots should now correctly get debuffs to vision at night
- Greatly reduced the view range of scavs and pmc's
- Reduced the view range of rogues on loothouse
Other
- The boys got nerfed again. (Please stop chasing me across the map)
- Removed a lot of global settings and moved the focus to specific bot types (Global settings were confusing things as there's a lot of unintended overlap)

Their hearing has been significantly nerfed. But should still be enough that local scavs will investigate.
Note the suppressed weapons have received a veryyyy big buff to the range bots react to them (buff in the sense that they cut down the distance compared to unsuppressed by a very large percentage)

I use a custom ABPS I tweaked with PMC hotspots.
I know why you're asking as another preset went in depth with their spawn settings. But I don't think it plays as big of a part as they make it out to be. Spawn settings are very user dependent and moreso come into play with what your goals are for your raids.

That's a SAIN thing. It's the workaround for them getting stuck. The only "fix" would be to turn off doors entirely.

I don't actually know. The goal of this isn't to be hard, but to be live like. So sometimes fights are easy, sometimes you get Chad'd by a PMC jump shooting you with M995. Scavs are predictable but not something you can ignore.

Having That's Lit installed and turning down bot aggression helped alleviate that somewhat in 3.9.8 - bots would still spot you fairly fast from a mile away, but would prioritize running to cover instead of shooting. Doesn't seem to do anything now, plus That's Lit still hasn't gotten a proper 3.11 update.

What on earth did you do? Installing this mod made the game so much more fun!
I used to play with the SAIN DeadArtist preset, but I never really felt like the AI acted "human."
But after installing this mod, the AI now shoots at me from the right position at the right time.
They act like players who are actually using sound to track me—it's incredible!
I'm having a great time, and I really hope you keep updating this mod in the future.

Haha most the credit goes to solar for SAIN. Even with the small PR's I've done there and this preset he's put 100x more time and effort into making the AI enjoyable.
As far as the preset goes glad you enjoy it. I'm still tweaking some things (main concern atm is getting PMC's to stop feeling so snappy and almost spin bot like at times).

Did you remember to update Vision Speed Multiplier under the bots' difficulty settings? SAIN 4.1.1, which it says your preset is for, in their update notes says: "Fixed Vision Speed Multiplier being opposite what it should be. Causing bots to see very slowly on hard sain presets, and see quickly on easy presets. All old presets are going to be affected". In SAIN settings, it says higher is more difficult and value of 2 means bots will spot enemies twice as fast, but I can't remember if that's the old description or a new one.
In your preset Vision Speed Multiplier goes down as bots get more difficult. For example BEAR bots have 0.8 on normal, 0.7 on hard, and 0.6 on impossible. Shouldn't it be the other way around now?

Main thing I've noticed is scavs might be slightly overtuned. Going to lower their aggression and gunshot hearing a bit as they can get swarmy.

First of all thanks for the work and this preset i tested a couple of Raids with it I kinda like the PMC's they seem to be in a good balance.
But for my liking Scav's are a little bit to easy sometimes i can walk almost behind them and they dont notice me, some of them also react very slow too, I know some might say Scav's should be easy and stuff but i find they should be a bit of a challenge and not a free kill, but thats only my opinion.

Thanks for taking the time to configure the setting for SAIN. I've tried, but the AI are either gods or don't respond when I'm a foot behind them. I find .6 to be the best one so far. The most recent one had me getting shafted by pmc AI locking on in an instant and laser beaming me from miles away all in a split second on the larger maps.

Too aggresive, especially when in group, they push you. IF so i believe their scatter should be default, since they shouldnt be too much of a threat, unless it's what you want. to Have Terminator's PMC's and hard scavs. Or maybe it feels like that for me since it fresh lvl 1 account.

i agree, scavs are too aggressive kinda esp if they hear gunshots or spot loot they rush you like crazy. i think a bit more delay for the shot reaction would be helpful. i found it a bit more pleasant because pmcs should kill scavs not the other way.
