  • Regarding the new alternate spring based real recoil option: Is there a way to configure it so that the "zero" moves up with each shot rather than staying the same at the start of a "burst"? I like how one shot returns to its original position, but if you hold the trigger down, the barrel will stop rising at a certain point and just stay in that area until the magazine empties.

  • recoil still insane even after deleting config, 1.7.1 recoil was perfect, i would understand this recoil if you could pull down easily like in realism or insurgency sandstorm

    • well the 1.7.2 recoil text box said other wise (4.0 vert, 0.6 hor), tried it again with your numbers and without tweaking the numbers with 1.7.2 checked, it is good but the 1.7.1 version felt better to shoot, maybe its just placebo or maybe its harder to pull down your mouse to counter the recoil in this version?

    • could be placebo because the setting makes the mod use the exact same value for real recoil as 1.7 did. ill double check it later

    • dont think its placebo, its 1.9.0 has recoil going up in a vertical line like in insurgency if you dont control it, while 1.7.1 doesnt go up as fast, is easier to control (pull down) and goes more around a circle of the target zone, which feels smoother for me

  • I confirm that the recoil at the shooting range is too high, I haven't been on a raid yet

  • Recoil is insanely high in hideout and raid, still. Removed config file, reinstalled, tried some previous versions, nothing works.


    I'm also not sure if your footage is just good recoil control or not, and that I am just misinterpreting this mod as a rework rather than a difficulty increase. Would be helpful if you full sprayed without controlling as a baseline example.


    For reference though, whenever I shoot 1 shot of a pb pistol at the back middle target's head in firing range, it recoils to slightly above the wall, with like 20 degree horizontal recoil sometimes, which seems pretty ridiculous.

    • could either be a config issue or my fuckup, unable to test for a little while

    • The issue started after the last update!

    • New update is the same as 1.8.0, but just enabling "use 1.7.2 recoil values" makes recoil behave like what I can assume is normal, because it doesn't match 1.7.2 which was also bugged, and it's enjoyable.


      That's without following the extra steps in the description though, because when I do, it goes back to 1.8.0 recoil.


      Doing the same test with the pb pistol, the iron sights meet the bottom of the metal beam below the ceiling perfectly. The pb pistol is also much easier to control when spamming compared to last time.

  • as others have mentioned, recoil crank in the hideout is pretty insane in 1.8.0.

    in-raid, recoil is a bit better.

    high recoil persists after deleting BepInEx\config\com.pein.camerarecoilmod.cfg.

    1.7.2 recoil in hideout is normal.

    • what are the recoil stats on that weapon, guessing its modded? does this happen with any other weapon?

    • vertocal ecoil is 90, horizontal is 220. Mk47 with vanilla weapon mods.

      high recoil also happens with every other gun, pistols, ARs, SMGs, etc. a AS VAL with vanilla attachments and 50 vertical recoil also does this. 167 horizontal.

    • id like to say that i did pretty extensive testing of 1.8.0 before pushing it out. if changing the real recoil settings doesnt help then ill be able to test everything in a couple of days.

  • Hey, can I ask which settings I would need to change to reduce hip fire recoil/spread when not using a laser/flashlight? I was able to dial in recoil how I wanted for ADS and when using a laser/flashlight but if I hip fire on auto with no light on it goes pretty nuts lol like by end of mag I'm shotting 3 body lengths away at the ceiling :D If I turn my light/laser back on though I'm back to a very controlled grouping

Would be cool if not too much trouble for you to work something like that in, I'm not sure why but my unassisted hip fire seems wildly exaggerated with this mod installed vs vanilla, but I just gotta keep a laser or flash light ready cause the tweaks to ads & recoil with a light while using this are chefs kiss lol totally worth the tradeoff xD

  • Can I ask, does this mod lower recoil when using attachments? I miss that from Fontaine's. (and obviously everything else realism adds).

    Anyway I'm hoping the weapons weight modifies the recoil. thinking that would be an easy enough way to implement as I'm pretty sure attachments add weight right? anyway thanks for mod.

    • attachments affect real recoil, weight doesnt... yet.

  • For those updating to 1,8.0, reset all the mod settings with the reset button or delete the mod config file. Otherwise your recoil will be ridiculously high.

    • Thanks, was just coming to post that I was getting crazy recoil with a Vector with 38 vertical recoil.

    • On further inspection, couldn't get it to work. Completely reinstalled 1.8.0 and reset all settings in the F12 menu. Still crazy recoil with both the Vector and HK416. Reverting back to 1.7.2 for now.

    • havent updated myself so i dont know if this works, but try deleting this file: SPT 3.11.3\BepInEx\config\com.pein.camerarecoilmod.cfg

    • I have to thank you with all my heart, I was doing the punisher pt.1 quest with the AKM on shoreline and I was wondering already like "How come the recoil is so incredibly insane with this gun and is actually impossible to hit anything with at anything greater than 10 meters at full auto?". I thought it was just the mod or the game itself since I remember the 7.62x39 and greater calibers to have considerable recoil. Turns out it was this and you cant just overwrite all the files when updating and that I was playing the game in ultra hard mode. Still managed to get more than 20 kills with it though but mostly by shooting semi auto and through CQB.

      Anyways for anyone wondering how to update it, delete BepInEx\config\com.pein.camerarecoilmod.cfg, - BepInEx\Plugins\PeinRecoilRework.dll and user\mods\pein-sptrecoilrework . Afterwards just reinstall 1.8.0 version of this mod normally. It should then be completely fixed.

  • I have a very difficult time seeing the magnifying scope that I hold with my left stance, is there a solution?

    • if you mean the camera is far away then fovfix has an option to change the distance while in left stance. i have it set to 0.07

  • Hello! Could we have more detailed descriptions for the config options?


    for example, I'm not sure if larger or smaller values for the "camera snap speed" make it snap faster, and since it takes anywhere from a few seconds to a game restart to take effect, it's tedious to figure stuff like this out for every single slider...

  • Dunno why, this mod causes heavy performance issues, Customs FPS dropped from 55-60 frames to 10-15? around the same on GZ
    I like the recoil, but the game becomes unplayable

  • Seems to be an issue where occasionally in raid, if you loot an enemies weapon and try to use it, it either completely won't work (ie the gun model will cycle as if you can shoot it, you can ads, etc.) but it doesn't actually shoot or consume ammo, or, you'll pick up a gun and won't be able to shoot it, ads, or switch back to any other weapon or even move.

    I have a lot of mods lol, so I assume since combing through the comments, I haven't found anyone else reporting this issue, that this is likely due to conflict between this mod and one of my other ones


    Other than that, the recoil feels fantastic and I'd love to get this mod working properly!

    • im having this same problem, its very frustrating since the only way ive found how to fix it is by extracting. i have no idea if its from this mod though and i love alot of mods as well

    • The 'Hands Not Busy' mod is useful for those types of bugs. It resets your hands back to normal when you're stuck in animations.

      decided to remove it because of compatibility and it being really "hacky", if it makes sense. if i do bring it back in the future it'll have a better implementation and hopefully better compatibility with other mods

  • Had some strange bot behavior using this mod; bots would not shoot at me until I turned my back to them. They wouldn't reload if I was facing them either.
    Removed other new mods I installed today until this one, testing raids as I went. Bots seemed fine with this not in the mod list. Shame since the recoil effect is a big improvement over vanilla.

    • I don't suppose you'd know if the load order would matter for a mod such as Shiny Airdrop Guns! which creates duplicate weapons with improved stats? I see there are some jsons for specific guns so I wanna make sure their stats get applied to the improved versions too.

    • I have noticed during playing that the current version with Real Recoil on has some significant front aperture deviation despite setting the horizontal and vertical deviation to 0 (basically trying to get COD MWII 2022 Style Recoil). Is there a way now to set the front and rear apertures to match during continuous automatic fire?

    • play around with the fast spring multipliers, since by default it only goes up

  • Me and a Buddy are getting very different recoil amounts on a fresh install for both, is there any way you could do a video of the latest build using an m4a1 for example to show the baseline recoil and what to expect? Might help people who are on the fence about the mod as well :)!

    • Just to add to this, we had the same before, but after the implementation of the "Real Recoil" we get very different results

      as for the recoil difference i wouldnt know without more details, i had my friends test 1.4.0 on fika and it seemed to work fine. could just be a config issue but im just guessing here. ill give it some testing when i get back home.

    • maybe if i find a way that prevents it from messing with the weapon's recoil pivot point (my best guess). otherwise ill improve compatibility and add a toggle.

  • Anyone else occasionally get crazy-high recoil for no (discernable) reason?


    I had to remove this from my mod list because, regardless of the weapon i had equipped, recoil would sometimes max out. I thought it might be based on arm stamina at first, but no. Then I thought it might be based on arm health, but it happened when I was at full health.


    EDIT: Nevermind, read the last line of the description. I look forward to it being patched, this rework feels a lot better than vanilla imo!

    • the description was outdated, i think its caused by recoil angle intensity values being improperly applied. try setting recoil angle intensity values for both pistols and rifles to 1.0 and see how it goes.

    • Reinstalled and left default configs as-is. Unable to recreate so far, but I'll leave it installed and let you know if I see it again. I don't remember changing the configs in my initial install, but *shrug*
