  • KIA / Death / Raid End sound reappeared after a long time without it playing (noticable in SPT+LIVE)

    Hello all,
    in SPT as well as LIVE eft    , I have not heard the KIA / Death / End of Raid noise in a long time, since there was the ability to turn off the noise (via the checkbox in settings > sounds > after-raid-music ??) in an update a couple of years ago.


    Recently playing SPT I noticed the sound playing after every death as both PMC or Scav when showing the raid end screen.
    After noticing, I checked LIVE eft as well, and also was able to hear the loud noise there too.


    Before the sound appeared persistently, I have not installed any new audio-related mods or made changes to audio ingame or in mod configs, which is not helping to find out the root cause. Also in Tarkov > settings > sounds, I still had the play after-raid-music box unchecked.

    All the time up until this week I was glad not to hear the earraping noise, but now every death in both SPT and LIVE eft plays the sound.


    Here is an example of another streamer (recorded recently), which my audio was identical to (no KIA sound played). He does not mute the game audio after a death. (twitch clip)

    I am sure this shouldn't be caused by installed mods, as I haven't made any changes to when there was no KIA sound playing before.


    Though I have also checked the plugin BobbysMusicPlayer's "DeathMusic" folder, and it was empty.

    In the BepInEx log file at the very end, a line

    [Info   :BobbysMusicPlayer] audioClipArray is null or empty

    should proof, that there was no audio to play at death, and no backup sound should be played instead from this plugin, as this plugin is not running in LIVE eft, where the KIA sound is also playing.


    I suspect it might have to do with some ancient audio files being loaded (when they shouldn't).

    Here is a not-related situation which explains my suspicion:

    For example, two wipes ago, BSG replaced the old flea market Item-Sold (cash register) sound with a new sound (reference).

    Over discord I could hear the new flea market Item-Sold sound effect being played for my teammates. However, to this day, I still have the old cash register sound playing (which i prefer more too) when an item was sold. Since the new sound got introduced, I have over the months checked the LIVE files for corruption and deleted the cache a lot, and the sound still persists (where ever it might be located).


    If anyone has got any ideas on how to disable the KIA sound after dying, I would really appreciate it.

  • Black Screen on Startup

    There seems to be an error with the Skills Extended mod when gathering information about your PMC character..
    Maybe you could try setting up a new profile for testing if the mod works for a fresh account (make sure not to delete your current profile if you have one), or remove the mod from your SPT structure temporarily to test whether the game launches without it. :thumbup:
