DeDistortionizer 1.0.1

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.10 or if they can upload older versions of their mods.
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

This removes all audio distortion when using headsets. That is it.

A very simple mod that just sets the distortion value for all headsets to 0.
To install: put mod folder in zip into user/Mods, restart server
Mostly for personal use, but thought I might as well upload it.

  • For those who still want to use this mod with 3.9, open package.json with a text editor and replace "akiVersion": "~3.8", with "sptVersion": "3.9",. It should work with most of the headsets, but looking at the code it doesn't seem too hard to add the rest.

    Thumbs Up 1
  • Do you plan on updating this to 3.9? I tried to myself but was clueless and couldn’t get it working.

  • I believe this still works on 3.7.1. however I have noticed when reloading or checking mags there is a weird audio squeak or shriek lol.

  • bad question but how or where is it installed?

    • Put it in the user/mods folder. You should see something come up when you start the server about the mod being loaded if its in the right place.

    • thxs

  • Sorry for asking a potentially silly question but what do you mean by audio distortion? Do you mean the differences in audio when using different headsets? Or the audio frequencies in the headsets?

Edit: I've been awake for the past 12 hours and its 8am in the UK, my son has kept me awake the entire night so I'm prone to ask/do weird things so I apologies in advance.

    • Well my wild guess is how "unclear" the audio is

    • There are still different sound "profiles" for the different headsets, lots of variables for each, so they will still sound different, but it will be closer to the true sound than before and will not sound quite as different between them all. Distortion used to decrease with headset quality, but never hit 0.

    • Okay I think I understand now, thank you both for clarifying.

  • does it possibly work on 3.5.0

    • Most likely does, but I haven't tested it, so no promises. It's probably the simplest mod that could be made.

    • Awesome, thanks for the quick response!
