MP-43 12ga Sawed-off Double-barrel Shotgun 1.1.0

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.9.X
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

Port of the sawed-off double-barrel from the new Tarkov wipe.

Special thanks to the SPT devs for dumping the relevant json files required for these mods to work, and for everything else! <3


Installation:


Download the .zip file, extract all, and add the folder MC-SAWEDOFF to your user/mods/ folder in SPT. Make sure it is just the folder with all of the contents, not a folder with another MC-SAWEDOFF folder inside of it, else the mod will probably throw an error!


The directory should look like this:


/user/mods/MC-SAWEDOFF/


and not this:


/user/mods/MC-SAWEDOFF_X.X.X/MC-SAWEDOFF/


To try and use with older versions that had the old locale type, make sure to open "config.json" with Notepad, change oldLocales from "false" to "true" (without quotes), save and close the file



Uninstalling:


If for whatever reason you need to remove this mod, make sure you delete any new items that this mod adds from your inventory before you delete the mod folder!

    • Yes it is possible, but not for me at this time. It is a very complicated process that only a few people here know (not me).

    • Hello again - yes, you are right about the weapons. About that CONFIGURE AI file - maybe I can figure it out myself, just tell me which file to edit in (read the README)

    • Apologies if the README is confusing. Basically you want to edit the config.json file. More specifically the "config" section. The other two are the valid options that you can choose from. Frequency changes how much/how often a bot talks, and the voice changes what set of voicelines they use.


      I can't go into more detail at the moment as I have to go to work.

    • Sure, what you will have to do is change two assort files:


      /database/traders/5c0647fdd443bc2504c2d371/assort.json

      &

      /database/traders/<whatever trader's ID you want>/assort.json


      The easiest way to do it is to swap these two files for one another. Move one of the files to a temporary location, then move the second file to where the first one was, and move the first file to where the second one was.


      Basically a simple swap of the files. You can also change the filename for one of them and move it directly to the second location, then move the other file, but make sure you rename them back to assort.json!


      Inside that file, the "loyal_level_items" controls at what trader level you unlock each trade, the "barter_scheme" controls what items and how much of what items you trade for each trade, and the "items" section controls the actual items in each trade themselves.

      UPDATE: Worked perfectly the way you suggested. The only Trader it could not be changed to was [Fence = 579dc571d53a0658a154fbec] as there is no \database\traders directory. No big deal at all. I just wanted to have the item available from the start of the game. Thanks again so much for the excellent explanation.

  • Bro.. The hits keep coming. Good job. Loving the AK-12. The SVT-40 not so hot gun wise.. (having an issue with it coming up in prapors inventory. could be mod on my end. don't sweat it. I got from the Flea. didn't like it much design wise.) Looking forwards to trying this one.

  • When will you port the PKM?

    • I hate to break it to you, but I will probably not bother because those guns will not work properly in the older SPT version since they are a new type of weapon with new mechanics.


      I believe they would require a corresponding client mod, which is beyond my ability currently and is probably quite complex.

      Really? What's the difference? I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary.

    • I believe there are new mechanics for guns that are belt-fed in the client. Now I'm not 100% sure but it can be a pain in the ass to put these together, especially if they end up not being usable. :D


      I was going to see if I had time to try them anyways, but I do not want to get people's hopes up because anything non-standard on the client side has always caused new weapons to not work. The underbarrel grenade launchers and the revolver shotgun come to mind...


      But that will have to wait until tomorrow, sleep time for now.
