A playable acoustic guitar that you can bring with you in your melee slot. Ever wanted to just chill for a moment and play the guitar? Well now you can!

About
Playable Guitar is a custom melee weapon that I designed to play music instead of actually being a weapon. It features a few custom animations, guitar model, and around 12 songs at the moment. Most of the songs are from Stalker, and there's a few other random songs I threw in that I liked. It has two actions you can perform: Left Click, which is a basic strum, and Right Click, which will start playing a random song. Additionally, you can also utilize the MIDI functionality to play custom songs, or play directly from a MIDI device.



How to obtain


You can get the Acoustic Guitar by purchasing it from Ragman, unlocked at Loyalty Level 2. It is currently not in any loot pools, nor is it sellable on the Flea market.



Adding MIDI Songs


First, download a .mid file that you want to add. Next, locate your BepInEx/plugins folder. Inside the plugins folder, open up the plugin called TarkovMIDI. In TarkovMIDI, drop the .mid file into the Midi-Songs folder.



Adding SoundFonts


First, download a .sf2 file that you want to add. Next, locate your BepInEx/plugins folder. Inside the plugins folder, open up the plugin called TarkovMIDI. In TarkovMIDI, drop the .sf2 file into the SoundFonts folder.



Recommended Mods


Hands Are Not Busy, by Lacyway - Since the guitar does not function like a conventional melee weapon, it is recommended that you install this mod in case of any busy hands problems that may occur. I did my best to make sure it doesn't happen, but it still can in some cases, therefore I highly recommend you install this mod just in case.



Future Plans


- Fika Compatibility: Currently, in Fika, you can not hear songs being played by others, and the animations may not sync properly.

- Better and more animations: Sometime in the future, I want to redo all the animations and create the rest of the animations (inventory action, inspect, ect)

  • one thing i've noticed since having this mod installed is that almost everyone I kill has one in their backpack, was this intentional and is there a way to change it? Love the mod regardless <3

  • I'm not sure how Rust added a MIDI player- but since it's also a Unity game and has this functionality...


    At least proof of concept does exist :)

  • This is so cool! I wonder whether it would ever be possible if scavs (especially) might randomly pull out their guitar (or pick one up if they are on the map) and start playing - I am thinking of the moments during scav raids when it's pretty much scav's ruling the map and everyone is just chatting and laughing - would be cool to have one of them break out their guitar! (yeah I know this type of thing could get too complex unless you fudge it - but we can dream!).

  • музыка и бренчание работают, но саму гитару видно только когда бежишь на Shift, а так просто свободные руки. Если нажимать на End то просто сменяется слот, и наш ЧВК берёт в руки пистолет. ещё и барахолка сломалась, предметы не открываются и не покупаются, ВСЕ предметы. удалил Ваш мод и всё заработало, но задумка классная, спасибо.

  • I downloaded as soon as I read the title! Amazing!


    When I equip the guitar I can press left click to open strum. But when I right click, my character starts strumming, I start losing arm stamina, but I don't hear any songs being played. And the only way I can put the guitar away is with the HANB mod.


    Any solutions for this?

    • Hmm I didn't realize that you lose stamina from this! I'll definitely sort that out. As for not being able to hear the song, what about in the hideout shooting range?


      Edit: Are you sure stamina is being used? Also, you are just clicking once right? Not holding?

      I haven't tried it out in the shooting range, but I am positive I lose stamina. After I lose my arm stamina it starts to drain my leg stamina in chunks. I do however have a hefty list of mods I am running. Nothing over the top but I do have several. It may be a conflict between some of them? I'll try running the mod on a clean install when I'm home and see if I get the same results.

  • I noticed that while pressing the right click (To play an entire song) busy hands can happen. For me it happens kinda frequently. Busy hands fixes it though so not a major issue since it always resolved it :)

    • Yeah I'm still looking into that, hopefully will have it fixed soon. I imagine it has something to do with how I am handling AltFire.
