WTT - M700 Long Action Realism Compatibility Patch 1.0.3

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.10 or if they can upload older versions of their mods.
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

My first mod so far ! I've added compatibility for M700 & Realism , hope you like it !

This is the first mod, i've never done any for a game so if you have any heads up to give me or if you think i missed something , please feel free to tell me in the comments! kanawow

The mod simply adds compatibility between the WTT - M700 Long Action by EpicRangeTime and the SPT Realism Mod by Fontaine. I tweaked some stats to my liking , tell me in the comments if you think something should be slightly changed.

If this mod goes well , i'll think about adding new compatibilities in the future! ^^

Installation :
- Download the file
- Extract it on the SPT folder or  extract WTT-M700 Lapua - WTT-M700 Norma.json in user\mods\SPT-Realism\db\put_new_stuff_here
- Make sure that both WTT-M700 Long Action Lapua & WTT-M700 Long Action Norma mods are loading before Realism or the patch won't be applied !

  • Version 1.0.3

    - Lowered up Heat factor for both guns

    Thanks Blitz for the report

  • Version 1.0.2

    Another update ! Thanks basherboy for the report but , more importantly , for all the help you provided me & for your patience explaining me all those logic about guns, ammo and stats, that wouldn't have been possible without you <3

    Changelog :

    • Adjusted damage for both 250g and 300 bullet in order to be consistent with Realism
    • Fixed velocities for all the barrels
    • Adjusted many attachments weights
    • Adjusted the vertical & horizontal recoil of some attachments
    • Adjusted the Base.Torque for both weapons
    • Added the Master Category to the weapon, in that way you can share the mastery level for both M700 LM & Norma

    Hope you'll like those changes ! Once again , thanks Basher !

  • Version 1.0.1

    • Fixed penetration value for both norma ammos in order to be adapted to Realism :
      250g : 48 --> 80
      300g : 39 --> 65
      I simply made a proportion with different scales and stayed true to the penetration values of EpicRangeTime
      ( Thanks Baconism for the report )

    • Fixed ergo values for many weapons attachments i missed to change

    Sorry for update a few hours after i published my mod , i still have to make experience i guess ;(

  • Version 1.0.0

  • I think I figured out what might be the cause of the gun jamming after 7-8 shots. The ammo still has the Heat: Extreme stat when inspecting it.

  • Can you tone down the heat in the next patch? The gun jams up really quickly. Thanks!

    • If I don’t remember wrong , it was a number close to 0 already , I’ll check it tomorrow

    • I've lowered up the Heat factor of both gun, that should be slightly better (They were numbers <1)

    • I finally had a day off of work to test the update, still seems to have issues with the bolt getting jammed after around 7 rounds fired. It might just be an intrinsic problem with the M700 mod, but I'm not sure. A full reinstall of all mods still yields the same results.

    • Yeah , I guess it might also be a problem between realism and the mod itselfs , tbh I’ve setted the value to the lowest possible ( 0,27 ) compared to other patches/guns in realism where the value goes way higher ( >0,80 )

      Btw , just so I know , does it happen after you shot all the 7 shots in a row , or even after a long time between the shots ?

    • Okay, so I went ahead and did some timed shooting with 15 second 30 second and 1 minute intervals and the results were all the same with either the 7th or 8th round getting a "Bolt Jammed".

  • Quick tidbit on the master category, although I don't know jack about realism patches so I'm sorry if I'm looking at it wrong, but I do have base game mastery set to the AXMC just because of the similarity in platforms despite it not being based off of it for animations sake. Do what you want, but the AXMC would probably be a better match for its mastery. Not sure what mastery effects in realism.

    • Before publishing the last update I tried ( for test purpose ) to set the dvl as master category , but for some reason it was giving some reference errors on the console when was using it , then basher gently advised me that the SV98 was working , so I used it , imma try to see if AXMC will work and if it will , I’ll use this one and release a new update , ty for the heads up! Love your mods! <3

    • Hey Epic , apparently AXMC won't make it work as mastery category , i've tried many , mdr ,m4 , m1a ,p226 and many others are working;

      For some reason if i try with AXMC , DVL-10 ( or DVL ) , M700 , Mosin , T-5000 or VPO-215 this error shows up :

      Error processing files in directory D:\Games\SPT 3.9.5\user\mods\SPT-Realism\db\put_new_stuff_here: TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'Templates')

      They only Bolt-action that seems to work is SV98 for some reason , i've also tried with all combinations of names ( case sensitives cases like axmc - Axmc - AMXC etc..), idk what to do tbh , that's also my first mod so i lack of experience :/

      If you have some advice , feel free to tell me

    • Alrighty, thank you for testing it.

    • Hey Epic, a quick update regarding what we were talking about the other day. I discovered that the "SV98" is actually the master category for all bolt-action rifles. So, even though I say "SV98," it's actually just an ID that encompasses all other bolt-action weapons.

      I'll update the post from the last update to clear up this misunderstanding.

      If you'd like, to make things clearer, you can check the list of master categories in Realism yourself;

      Here's the file path: D:\Games\SPT 3.9.5\user\mods\SPT-Realism\db\items\mastering.json

      Thanks again to basherboy for the advice and clarification.

    • Cool, thanks for the info!

  • Good patch. One thing I noticed was the velocities for the barrels didn't seem to have a change when getting shorter. From a test I read, the velocity fall off from a 14in barrel should be about -17% (assuming 26in to be the baseline). I was in the process of writing my own patch for this gun when I saw this one, so I thought I might mention that

    • All right , I’ll put this in my notes and i’ll update it tonight after work, if you think I should change something else , feel free to tell me so I’ll add it before tonight , all this advices are giving me some good lessons and exp , those will make me do less mistakes in future , thanks a lot ! :)

    • That will be the biggest adjustment. My stats are a little different than yours in some places. Theres a fair amount of personal decision on the balance of things though. Id be happy to send you my patch that I finished last night for my personal use so that you can compare. Took some of your numbers on some parts.

      For the barrel lengths, I used 26in as the baseline as that is a good performing barrel overall for .338. So that velocity is 0. These numbers are from a test someone did chopping the barrel down to get the velocities. Accuracies were adjusted slightly too based on the SD of each barrel length. The default values from the base mod are fine, I just wiggled them slightly. Ill omit them here.

      Velocities:

      28in: +1.5

      26in (and timberwolf): 0

      24in: -1.5

      22in: -3.8

      20in: -6.9

      18in: -10.4

      16in: -13

      14in: -17

    • I will definitely use these ones! I don’t know how to thank you for that , I know that this took a lot of your time and effort and not everyone would share part of their work so the best I can do is to follow those instructions letter by letter ;

      Imma apply those once I get home ( around 4 hours ) , thank you for real , you’re a legend <3

      Edit : If you want , you can send me the file on discord , I’m nicholas90 there , add me and send it in dm so I’ll take a look at it once I get home

  • Great compatibility patch, but you did happen to miss something. The 338 Norma ammo has default Penetration power which is too low for Realism, 39 for 300gr and 48 for 250gr, should be upped in your patch to offset the armor changes in realism. Haven't noticed any other issues besides that though, so overall well done :thumbup:

    Thumbs Up 1 Heart 1
    • Oh , yeah , you're right, imma fix this soon ! ^^

    • Could you explain a bit more about the damage values/logic so my personal M107 patch isn't wrong?

    • You basically have to add those strings :

      "Damage": x,

      "PenetrationPower": x

      on the ammo part and transform the default pen value from scale 6 to scale 10 , you can ask ChatGPT to transform the value for you if u want , imma give u an example here :

      39 ( scale 6 ) ---> 65 ( scale 10 )
      48 ---> 80
      scale 6 is the maximum armor level in vanilla tarkov
      scale 10 is maximum armor level in realism

      That's the logic i'm going to use to fix this ( That's something i assumed , i think it's a logical solution , although , i'm unexperienced on this so don't relay 100% on my advice )

      EDIT : I just noticed that u asked for damage , not pen , mb , anyway , for the damage , I used the same value it was reported in the vanilla mod , I’ve added the damage string just to be sure but it will work anyway even without “forcing” it with the added string , it will keep the vanilla damage that the mod author decided the ammo to have

      Thumbs Up 1
    • Update out! Thank your for the report ! ^^
