Live Like Experience - A SAIN Preset
- Provides manageable Scavs. They aren't usually fearsome warriors, but ignore them long enough and they might get lucky.
- PMC's are a threat. A healthy mix of Chads and Normal players. They will be an issue.
- Bosses and followers exist to be a challenge.
- AI hearing is turned wayyyy down, the goal is to keep them from starring at walls and sitting in cover forever.
- AI has some minor map specific tuning. For example, labs will see must more aggressive play than shoreline.
Overall this preset aims to provide a "Live Like Experience". Some raids will be easy, some raids you'll run into a super sweaty giga chad. Boss fights should be a challenge while scavs should usually be easy kills. I'm a believer of "if you're surviving every raid because the fights are a joke than it's not fun" camp, so expect to die sometimes.
This preset is what I play with, I'm a 30 something dad gamer with a military background. So the goal is fun, semi-realistic, and not soul crushing.

Hearing
- Removed the global hearing debuff in favor of more selective debuffs

- Tweaked all of the random ranges (healing/reloading/etc..)
- Gunshot sounds should still be nerfed to avoid swarming
Scavs
- Received a slight buff to aiming while moving
Rogues
- Received a massive nerf to aggression in an attempt to get them to stop pathing out of rogue camp
- Massive buff to vision to snipe you with the mounted guns when you're cheesing on the rock
PMC's
- Slight buff to the odds they'll try to shoot you in the face
- Slight buff to aiming while moving
- Slight buff to aiming at range

Cover Changes
- Bots should be smarter about returning fire if in the open
- Bots should no longer run absurd distances for cover
- Bots will consider cover closer to the enemy
Scav Changes
- Scavs should be more varied now
- Still weaker than PMC's but some should be a little more spicy
- They no longer just aim center mass, RIP legs and arms.
Lighting Changes
- PMC's now notice lights (flashlights/lasers) at longer distances
Aggression Changes
- Chads "chase gunfire" range has been lowered
- Search speeds tweaked for most personalities
Location Specific Changes
- Labs should be a bit more spicy
- Tweaked bot view distance a bit on big maps (woods/loothouse/shoreline)
- This might need to be buffed a bit more, trying to make them not be braindead to people sniping.
Misc
- A lot of little tweaks (mainly with scavs) when it comes to aiming.
- Includes aiming while under fire, aiming while wounded, etc...

Latest Version Discussion
My Concerns
- Are bots still being dumb about running to cover when they should shoot back?
- Did I buff scavs a little too much?
- Are their too many CHAD pmc's?
- Location specific issues... Is labs TOO hard now (Or do the raiders need a buff?), are the bots on the big maps handling long range combat any better?
KingLich
fought like 4-5 scavs yesterday. think they're in a good balance in between dumb-clever.
AmsPhysics
Testing some factory with the bots and you got aiming and accuracy pretty good.
scavs still kinda easy at least for me, for some reason its like they can barely hear so when theyre back is turned theyre pretty easy, not sure what is doing that other than hearing.
sometimes pmcs are still running for cover to heal instead of continue shooting, i have this same problem with my preset idk why they do that nor have i found healing settings
gonna keep testing give you some more info
Shibdib Author
I've also noticed the hearing weirdness, I have a guess about the cause... I think occlusion might not be working as intended (likely just an EFT issue).
StevenSeagal
First of all thanks for spending so much time tweaking so many parameters to make bots more dynamic, a few issues though, that weren't as present in earlier versions.
-----
I've played about 8 raids with the newest (v.1.0.5) update, here are my findings:
- Bots, especially Scavs take a long time to engage, they aim without shooting for too long. It feels like I have all the time in the world to get headshots, since I know I have lots of time to get on target. Basically Scavs are much too easy, to the point where it feels like target practice.
- Bots generally will prioritize taking cover when they should shoot back, every raid I've had so far I've just been mowing them down since they turn their back on me and attempt to run to cover when confronted. The Raiders in Labs seemed to be more responsive, but then again cover is very close to bots in Labs most of the time, so that might have an impact.
I think the issue here is especially apparent when they're out in the open, and there's a lot of open areas in Tarkov.
- Bots are almost *too* deaf at this point, they can't hear me running 10 meters behind them.
-----
The things that do work well are how bots move around more, and that they don't just lazer in on me and swarm my position as if they have wallhack after hearing me 800 meters away. If the combat can be balanced to make bots more reactive in combat, but still maintain hearing randomization, that may perhaps be more in the right direction.
Shibdib Author
Hmm I wonder if I got something backwards, I'll give it a looksie. Might push out 1.0.6 today anyway, wanted to make more anti-scav swarm tweaks.
Bing
sorry, is it work with "please just fight?“

First, absolutely amazing.
Second, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

PCM's feels great, but Scavs feels a bit too much. Possible to have default Scavs and only PMC's buffed?
Shibdib Author
Too much in that they're too dumb or too hard? I've been think they're too dumb lately.
markopas
Too aggresive, especially when in group, they push you. IF so i believe their scatter should be default, since they shouldnt be too much of a threat, unless it's what you want. to Have Terminator's PMC's and hard scavs. Or maybe it feels like that for me since it fresh lvl 1 account.
ezlife
i agree, scavs are too aggressive kinda esp if they hear gunshots or spot loot they rush you like crazy. i think a bit more delay for the shot reaction would be helpful. i found it a bit more pleasant because pmcs should kill scavs not the other way.
limo9966
Can you guys advise how to increase the difficulty of bots even higher? I have a statistical survival rate of 75 percent)
defjew
There should be some sound nerf
shooting a gun and then 6 pmcs or scavs come run at me from the other side of the map isnt that grteat
chanisul
mod good!!!!
becksprofi
This preset is so much fun. And you manage make it better and better every time. Thank you for your time and work!
Jonnecy
how are Scavs with this preset ? the standard SCAV using SAIN is nearly indistinguishable from your average PMC compared to live Scavs. not sure why they need to be like that...
Mayoringram
Do you personally use That's Lit and optimize these values for that or SAIN only?
Shibdib Author
I do not use that's lit but it should work fine alongside it.
ezlife
is it possible to completely disable the pmc yapping without affecting other bots?
I see no reason why pmcs should reveal their location midfight by yapping “I'm reloading”.
AmsPhysics
bot settings, then go to pmcs and talking is under the "mind" section
ezlife
It disables most of the talk but it doesn't disable the talk completely, I don't use the GUI as I host a dedi but I have edited the configs. But thanks anyway. I was just hoping to find a preset that simply deactivates the blablabla without exception. I also loaded SAIN last to make sure nothing is overriding it. I noticed you uploaded your own preset recently, did you deactivate the talk?
AmsPhysics
unfortunately i did not, i kinda like the talk personally. i could make you non talk version if i can figure out how to get it off completely
AmsPhysics
There is a non talk version on my github. let me know if it works on my page, i dont wanna clutter shibdib's page

Just wanted to get a better idea of this preset, are any of the changes made with advanced settings for SAIN, as in, could I reach a similar/same preset by tweaking the regular settings available thru the SAIN overlay? Thanks.
Shibdib Author
I make most of my changes via out of game editor (just easier for me), but they're all technically accessible via the in game F6 menu.
EteRnityCrazy
I tried to use your preset , but the pmcs just stand still and do nothing until someone shoots them , even many times they stand in the middle of nowhere or the street looking over the floor.
AmsPhysics
are you using ai limit mods, those typically make them do that
EteRnityCrazy
I'm using the performance mod, but the AI limitation is disabled
DevilFlippy
Don't use it if you play on Fika.
EteRnityCrazy
I don't use Fika.
Fums
Is there anyway I can disable the changes this makes to bosses? Just want it for PMC if possible
Shibdib Author
In the F6 menu, global settings, general, vanilla bot behavior, enable it for whatever bot types you don't want touched.
poneais
why they beat me everytime like in online? RAWR!
Shibdib Author
Any gripes/complaints about specific issues?
My current concerns
- Are scavs too easy?
- Should we just disable doors entirely?
- Is there enough variety amongst PMC's?
Ashens
I think SCAVS simplicity should be a good thing, because whenever you do a task and loot, and then do a killing mission, you will find corpses that are already full of maps, which is not a good thing, SCAVS itself should be inferior to PMC, isn't it, and not in the case of 3V3, PMC even fails, as for the diversity of PMC, I think the character of the SAIN belt should be able to solve, whether this PMC is a hero or a coward. It would be great if we could solve the problem of AI stuck behind the door, and finally, thank you for your efforts
AmsPhysics
noticing a lot of pmcs mid fight will just turn around and walk or run off. i like scavs in this preset they usually die to pmcs which is what i like personally so theres more pmcs walking around looting. only thing i dont like about the scavs is they are little too dumb when youre right up on them. also right now im finding myself already back to tweaking again because pmcs just dont react fast sometimes, or theyll stop shooting midfight like i mentioned above which im surprised about because i turn off timmy and coward personality. i had only few times they were stuck in doors, dont really know how thats effecting things but i heard its been a problem forever.
PPXXPP5603
Many PMCs will turn around and run away directly during battles, which makes it easy for me to get kills. When I shoot, they will suddenly stop shooting and then turn around and run.
The PMC in the laboratory appears very real, but their aggressiveness is too strong. Whenever there is a battle, the PMC on the entire map will gather towards gunshots.
Sometimes when PMC shoots, I haven't even had time to get to that location before the battle is over.
But even so, I believe this Preset is very good.
Shibdib Author
I'll look into the pmc's running to cover instead of shooting back issue. I have an idea what it could be.
Doors have always been an issue, it's not specific to this preset. I suppose I can leave it be for now.
I might bump scav accuracy a tiny bit, they're kinda atrocious shots right now if you're moving at all.
kkls153
When I apply a preset, a version related warning message appears. What is the problem?
The warning text is
The selected preset version is 3.2.1. The current sain preset version is 3.2.0.

作者您好,我想知道摩尔的难度预设会影响到你的预设吗,可惜 3.10 没有更好的生成 mod,但不幸的是摩尔有难度效果,我想知道会不会有影响,来选择是否去掉摩尔生成
Shibdib Author
Used AI for this response but
MOAR的难度设置会影响机器人生成时的难度等级,而不一定是它们使用的AI设置。SAIN和这个预设可以与之配合使用,没有问题。
MOAR's difficulty settings effect the difficulty tier that bots will spawn at, not necessarily the AI settings they use. SAIN and this preset will work fine with it
Boutchoo
Very good ! Some PMC push more and land more shots then what I had
Storyteller
i cant get mine to show up in sain presets, but i extracted in the sain folder and tried moving files around, any suggestions?
Boutchoo
Like said in the description, it will auto-use it
Storyteller
its still using my modified preset, unless it doesnt show up in the sain menu at all
PPXXPP5603
You didn't put the file in the right location
PPXXPP5603
You should create a preset first so that you can place the preset

right now the pathway goes SPT>user>mods>SainServermod>Sain>Presets>live like folder. am i supposed to take everything out of the folder
ezlife
very decent preset, im dying so many times that my surv rate went from 70 to 40
it works great with "its lit" as well.
berzao
so far so good!! Bots are a bit realistic now
Sasuke_Kun
Does this mod touch bot spwans or only their behaviour like SAIN does ?
osumunbro
this is a preset for sain...
Sasuke_Kun
I normally playing SAIN on i like pain difficulty, would you recommend to scale the difficulty section bars on live like preset to the pain preset settings or does this make the bots difficulty unplayable ?
i tried it and it seems like i cant survive a single raid without getting instant head eyed XD
Islarf
How does this compare to "Realistic Combat Overhaul" for 3.9.x? im still waiting on that one
Shibdib Author
I didn't play during 3.9 but I believe this has similar goals

Just tested it out
