InternalErrors_'s Insurable Items 1.4.1

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.10 or if they can upload older versions of their mods.
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

Grenades, ammo, knives and meds are completely insurable!

THIS MOD IS SIMPLY AN UPDATE OF INTERNALERROR_'S MODS, COMBINED. ALL CREDIT FOR CODE GOES TO HIM. THANK YOU ERROR!

Meds, ammo, knives and grenades can be configured to be insurable or not.

All of these items are enabled by default.

Installation

Simply drop the InternalError-InsurableItems into user/mods/

Visit the config folder, and open the config.json to choose what you want to become insurable or not.

Compatibility

If any mod changes insurability of the above items, IT WILL CONFLICT! ;(

Simply change the mod folder name to:

zInternalError-InsurableItems-1.0.0
Doing so will load this mod first.

    • Thanks InternalError_. If you want to add anything, pull it down, just ask or do so. It's all your code, with a little of mine dabbled in, so you get your own input.

      Thanks. <3:)

  • Cries in sadness lol

You were a great mod.... XD

  • Cant download the latest link broken :(

  • Is it possible to somehow exclude items in a pouch and special slots from insurance? For some reason grenades are not insured

    • I just went on a raid and got my insurance back on the cartridges I shot. I can already imagine the face of Prapor who took them out of the bots I killed

  • An update would be nice.

  • Works fine on 3.6.1 :)

  • Update for 3.5.8 ?

  • Will be updated to 3.5.8?

  • May I suggest adding a multiplier for the different item categories for their insurance price? I feel like certain things such as ammo is far too cheap to ensure and global insurance multipliers from other mods does not seem to affect it.

    • Correction. It does take into account global modifiers. The problem is that insurance treats a whole stack of ammo as one. So whether you have one singular bullet or a stack of 60 the insurance for it is the same.

    • That's a limitation of the game engine. Bullets were never intended to be treated as an item that can be insured because they are stackable. You'll notice that every item in default Tarkov that can be insured isn't stackable, because BSG never intended for stackable items to be insurable, including medical items. This isn't something we can change very easily unless someone can figure out how to code that into the game client and server. At the moment, this is the only way ammo can be insured without massive changes to the client side and or server side.

    • Would it be possible to still add a multiplier for only the items affected by the mod? Then you could say multiply by 60 and just kinda accept that you'll pay more if you want to insure less than a stack.

I'm sure there are smart solutions for coding it so that it adapts price to amount too, if you can retrieve the amount of ammo in a stack I don't see why it cannot be done. I understand if that is too massive of an undertaking though. But just the multiplier would be lovely at least. :)

  • Do u still maintaine the mod ?

    • On and off, I'll check for game updates every now and then :)

  • 100th download! I already know what I won, my bullets back!

    Thumbs Up 1
  • Any chance you could add options for melee slot items?

    • I'll add them next update, thanks for the idea. :)

EDIT: Just updated the addon. Please redownload to get the new update with knives.

  • Does this work with 3.2.4?

    • I haven't tested this with 3.2.4, but I can assume that it would. No major changes have been made from 3.2.4 to 3.2.5. Feel free to give it a try!

    • Awesome I'll give it a test later, I'll let you know if anything breaks
