My game has repeatedly crashed to desktop on shoreline and streets. On shoreline its usually towards the end of the raid, but on streets it happens anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour. no warning whatsoever just freezes up for about 10 seconds and closes out. I run memory cleaner so i know its not a memory issue but I have no idea how to start diagnosing this. My PMC also keeps all his stuff as if i never even started a raid.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Ok so I played around a bit more and can rule out More Checkmarks. Went down a rabbit hole on google that told me all my hardware was toast, a bit like when you get a slight illness and you look up symptoms and it tells you you're dying...

Anyway, one suggestion for this error is to underclock your RAM, I have DDR5 5200 ram 64gb, i9 13900KF and a 4080 Suprim X so it's pretty beefy. Underclocked my RAM to 5000mhz in Bios and had 4 raids back to back no issue. I'll report back if it turns out I crash again. I also swapped my DIMMs around in the same slots so it could be that too.

Hopefully this will have some relevance to your issues.

Thanks I started leaning towards hardware myself. I'm still on ddr4 3000mghz 32gig so and they are old so I could just have some dying ram. gonna try re slotting them and see if that does anything.

Yeh sorry I crashed again. I've deleted my posts as they don't solve the issue, will keep an eye on this for any possible fixes. I guess the only way to properly diagnose hardware/software is to start with a clean install and start adding in mods until it crashes but it's not something that can be reliably reproduced, it's random, so that's a potentially long and arduous process that means you don't get any game progression. It's such a pain. Never had these crashes before, been playing SPT for 3 years. None of the mods I use seem to have any similar complaints so I'm stumped. 3.7.4 was fine so I may just go back to that and see if it persists, if it works I'll just stay with that until 3.8.0 and all my mods update.
