QuoteDisplay MoreThis mod introduces a Dynamic Soundtrack system that changes what you hear in-raid based on the map and your combat state.
There are many other features, including main menu music replacement and "jukebox" hotkeys. Check the next tab for more details.
The purpose of this mod is to be a comprehensive tool for anyone who wants to change the musical experience of SPT.
Dynamic Soundtrack:
This mod allows you to import your own audio files into a dynamic soundtrack.
The Dynamic Soundtrack has multiple components, and is highly configurable in the mod's F12 menu.
The ambient soundtrack component will use your audio files to build and shuffle a playlist that you will hear throughout the raid. The particular audio files that it uses for each raid depends on the map that you are playing on, since you can set certain audio files to only be accessible on specific maps. Use the F12 menu to change how the mod builds the ambient soundtrack playlist.
The combat soundtrack component will use your audio files to build and shuffle a playlist that you will hear when you enter a state of combat. There are 5 triggers for entering a combat state: firing your gun, hearing gunfire close-by, hearing explosions close-by, being shot at, and being hit. Each of these triggers can send you in a combat state for different lengths of time. Your combat state will never be shortened by a trigger. Nearly every aspect of the combat soundtrack component is configurable in the F12 menu, including the volume of the ambient soundtrack during the combat state.
If you feel like the combat music triggers too easily/frequently, try setting "Combat duration when firing" to 0 in the F12 menu. Especially if you're using a mod like Backdoor Bandit.
Custom Menu Music:
This mod allows you to import your own audio files that will replace the main menu's music and play in a random order.
The volume is controlled using the game's music slider.
Replace Raid End Music:
This mod allows you to import your own audio file that will replace either the music that plays after a failed raid (death, MIA), or the music that plays after a successful raid (extraction, run-through).
If you add more than one file for either type of raid end, the mod will choose a random one to play.
Spawn Music:
This mod allows you to import your own audio file as a track that will play when your character spawns.
The ambient soundtrack will not play while the spawn music is playing.
If you add more than one file, the mod will choose a random one to play on spawn.
Replace UI Sounds:
This mod allows you to import your own audio files that will replace various sounds in the game's UI.
These sounds include all the quest sounds, the sting you hear at the moment of death, the trader transaction sound, and the error sound.
If you add more than one file to a single sound, the mod will choose a random one to play each time.
Jukebox Controls:
This mod introduces configurable hotkeys that allow you to control the main menu music and the ambient soundtrack. You can restart tracks, pause/unpause tracks, skip to the next track, and play the previous track. If you don't replace the main menu music, this feature will still work for the vanilla main menu music.
You can add the follow types of audio files: .mp2, .mp3, .ogg, .wav, .aiff, .s3m, .it, mod, .xm, .xma, .vag
Multiple people have reported issues caused by their mp3 files. While I am not certain, I believe the issue is caused by some files with the extension ".mp3" not actually being properly encoded like an mp3. If you run into problems, you can try using an audio conversion website or software to convert your audio files to a compatible file type (mp3, ogg, etc.)
Open BepInEx/plugins/BobbysMusicPlayer.
You will see 5 folders, here's what each one is for:
CustomMenuMusic: This folder has a subfolder called "sounds", which is where you will add all of the music you wish to hear in the main menu. Add as few or as many tracks as you like, because the mod will shuffle your tracks and only load as many as you need each time you enter the main menu (60 minutes' worth by default, but this is configurable).
DeathMusic: This folder is where you will add the music you wish to hear in the post-raid screen after a failed raid (Death, MIA). If you add more than one file, the mod will use a random one.
ExtractMusic: This folder is where you will add the music you wish to hear in the post-raid screen after a successful raid (Extraction, run-through). If you add more than one file, the mod will use a random one.
Soundtrack: This folder has 4 subfolders: "combat_music", "default_soundtrack", "map_specific_soundtrack", "spawn_music".
- combat_music: This is where you will add the audio files that you wish to hear when you are in a combat state. Add as many tracks as you like, and a random one will be used each time you enter a combat state. It's very important that the track loops well, or is long enough that you won't ever be in combat long enough to hear the ending. Be mindful that you do not add too many tracks that are too long, as it will lead to increased load times. The mod comes with 5 tracks included in this folder. The included tracks are trims of Geneburn/EFT songs (Thank you MrBox15 for the original files).
- default_soundtrack: This is where you will add the audio files that you wish to hear on every map. Add as few or as many tracks as you like, because the mod will shuffle your tracks and only load as many as you need for one raid (50 minutes' worth by default, but this is configurable). If using mods that make your raids longer than normal, use the F12 menu to make sure the mod loads as much music as you need.
- map_specific_soundtrack: This folder contains a subfolder for each location in the game. If there are tracks that you only want to hear on specific locations, put those tracks in the folder with the corresponding location name. Use the in-game F12 menu to change the relationship between map_specific_soundtrack and default_soundtrack. The default setting is "Combined", which means that the ambient soundtrack in a raid will be a random combination of your default_soundtrack and your map_specific_soundtrack for that location.
- spawn_music: This folder is where you will put the music that you wish to hear at the very beginning of raids. The ambient soundtrack will not play while the spawn music is playing. If you add more than one track to this folder, the mod will use a random one each time you spawn.
UISounds: This folder contains a subfolder for each UI sound that you are able to replace. If you want to replace any of these sounds, you will drag an audio file into its folder. Keep these tracks very short, like they are in the base game. I suggest only adding one file per subfolder, but if you add multiple files to one subfolder, the mod will pick a random one each time the game tries to play that sound.
Note: "QuestCompleted" refers to the sound cue for when you complete a quest's objective, whereas "QuestFinished" is for when you actually talk to the trader to finish the quest.
To Download/Install music packs:
Find music packs in the list below. Click the download link (at your own risk), and unzip the folder that you download (use 7Zip if it's a .7z).
Music packs that are marked with a green asterisk (*) can be installed by simply dragging their BepInEx folder into your SPT directory (like how you installed this mod).
Music packs that are marked with a pink asterisk (*) have folder structures incorrect or out-of-date.
To use these packs, you will open their folders and find the audio files. Then you will drag those files to the correct folder in your directory. Refer to the instructions in the tab: "Adding Your Own Music".
Music packs that are marked with a red asterisk have dead download links that need to be updated or replaced.
If you like a music pack, make it known to others by giving it a thumbs up in the comments, or reach out to the music pack author directly to let them know.
The music packs are organized under the mod components that they affect. The bold parenthesized text after the titles of certain music packs represents which subfolders of the mod component are affected.

You can make a music pack for the following components of this mod:
- CustomMenuMusic
- Soundtrack
- RaidEndMusic
- UISounds
Each music pack may only be made for one of the main components of this mod. That means you are not allowed to make one music pack that affects both the Custom Menu Music and the Soundtrack component, you must pick one, or do them separately across multiple packs.
When making a music pack, make sure it includes this series of folders: "BepInEx/plugins/BobbysMusicPlayer". Depending on what your music pack is for, include the rest of the file path with your audio files. Then, compress your music pack folder, and upload it somewhere (like Google Drive).
Releasing Music Packs:
You do not have permission to upload music packs for this mod to this website.
If you wish to share a music pack, go to the comments for this mod and find the pinned comment. Reply to it in the following format:
"[Mod component] - [music pack title] - [embedded download link]
[optional description/explanation]"
I will then check to make sure that everything is done correctly, and if it is, I will add your music pack with your name, download link, and description (if you wrote one) to the "Community Music Packs" list above. If there is something that needs to be fixed first, I will reach out to you.
To install:
UNINSTALL MY OTHER MODS BEFORE CONTINUING
THERE SHOULD NOT BE A SoundtrackMod.dll OR A CustomMenuMusic.dll IN YOUR PLUGINS FOLDER
Download the latest release from the "Versions" tab, unzip the folder, and then drag the "BepInEx" folder to your SPT directory.
To update:
If given specific instructions in the version release, follow those instructions. Otherwise, simply follow the install process.
To uninstall:
Delete the folder "BobbysMusicPlayer" in BepInEx/plugins.
Most Music is not included
This mod only comes with audio files for combat music.
For everything else, you have two options: Add your own music, or install a music pack.
If you want to add your own, check the "Adding Your Own Music" tab.
If you want to install a music pack, check the "Community Music Packs" tab.
Known Issues:
- Multiple people have reported issues caused by their mp3 files. While I am not certain, I believe the issue is caused by some files with the extension ".mp3" not actually being properly encoded like an mp3. If you run into problems, you can try using an audio conversion website or software to convert your audio files to a compatible file type (mp3, ogg, etc.).
- If you install a music pack and it doesn't work, it's probably because that music pack is outdated. Make sure you read the instructions on the "Community Music Packs" tab so that you know how to properly install outdated music packs.
Recommended mods:
Solarint's Bullet Crack Fix will help make sure that the Dynamic Soundtrack doesn't think you're being shot at when you aren't.
Note for ModSync users:
This mod will not work unless every folder exists where it should in the directory, regardless of whether it is empty or not.
If you use ModSync to share this mod with clients, it will not give them folders that are empty, thus the mod will not work.
Make sure everybody installs the mod manually, so that they have every folder they need.
Then, ModSync can be used to share your audio files with your clients.
This mod has a thread in the #mods-development channel on the SPT Discord. You can go there for support, discussions, etc. for this mod and its music packs. If you're trying to have a conversation with me about the mod, do it there rather than in the comments.
