Alright, I'm a linear thinker, so I'm gonna bullet point how I did this and where I ended up.

BSG folder is in root of drive

    Created root\EscapeFromTarkov\AKI folder

    Created root\EFT Backup folder

Opened live game folder, copied and pasted one copy into each of the above created

in AKI folder, unzipped patcher to downgrade to 12.10.2.12893

    Run patcher - successful

Unzipped AKI-1.6.0 into AKI folder, "yes to all" when replace conflict pops

    Run server - successful

Run launcher, register, then get "SPT shouldn't be installed in live game directory" error. Double checked for sanity, but for sure not using the live directory.

I have now twice deleted everything in *\AKI to just start over, but subsequent times the server doesn't do the setup, rather just acts like it's been set up before (doesn't download self-sign cert, etc), and when I open the launcher, I'm already signed in, no need to register like a new setup, and I get the above error again.

Feel like I'm going crazy - thoughts?

    Thanks for the help!

  • When you say root are we saying root as C:\ or are we saying root as C:\Desktop, etc? Where exactly is it placed?

SPT can't be installed to the Desktop, and it shouldn't be anywhere in the BattleState Games directory either.

It should be C:\SPT-AKI or C:\SP Tarkov or C:\Whatever or D:\SPT etc.

Personally, this is how I have mine setup. One directory on an SSD for the actual server/client files where I'm playing the game, and another drive which is an HDD for the actual backups, mods, etc.

To be 100% clear, it's not in this directory?

    WEEWOO :kekw:

  • That's correct - exactly how I have it set up! It's E:\EscapeFromTarkov\SPT AKI

One of my non boot drives was all I meant to communicate!

So looking at the above - do you think it might be an issue that I have SPT and BSG folders like this? Would I want to move the AKI folder to another drive entirely?

    E:\Battlestate Games

    E:\EscapeFromTarkov\APT AKI\

  • If by E:\EscapeFromTarkov\SPT AKI you mean that SPT is within the live folder of the game then yes, you'll need an entirely separate folder for SPT that is not contained within the live game folder.

  • No, you shouldn't need it on a separate/different drive.

I don't use my C drive because it's an RAID0 NVME setup, and I'd like it to live a little while lmao.

First thing's first, while I look through the CodePaste. Can you try running AKI-1.5.1 as AKI-1.6.0 is unstable, and not being developed on.

Edit: Sooo, your CodePaste is very short...

    Code
    2021-08-02 17:35:31.469 -04:00|0.12.11.1.13487|Error|FilesChecker|Consistency ensurance failed. File not exist. File: "EscapeFromTarkov_BE.exe". ElapsedMilliseconds:191

It's not detecting EFT_BE.exe for some weird reason as I always delete both the BE folder, and executable, and haven't had any issues whether 1.5.1, 1.6.0, or Bleeding Edge. Do try 1.5.1 for me, and let me know if that fixes it.

  • Would be best to re-downgrade as AKI-1.6.0 has several files that AKI-1.5.0 don't just to be on the safe side.

  • No joy. Just did a complete wipe, pulled back from my EFT live folder, copied, down patched, unloaded 1.5.1, and it's the same thing. It's like something somewhere is set up with info that needs to be cleared. Went into settings and just clicked all the "clear x" buttons for posterity and tried again - same issue.

It's for some reason not doing a "new" setup - even though I'd deleted everything and started over. Very odd.

    Thoughts?

  • Other than trying to stick in the EFT_BE.exe from the live game, with the downgrader I honestly have no clue why it's fretting over the BattleEye exe.

Probably best to have someone a little more experienced come along to assist you.

  • I actually just encountered this myself...and noticed this bit

    Code
    2021-08-02 17:35:31.469 -04:00|0.12.11.1.13487|Error|FilesChecker|Consistency ensurance failed. File not exist. File: "EscapeFromTarkov_BE.exe". ElapsedMilliseconds:191

For some reason it thinks you're running 12.11.1.13487

Try running the downgrader again for me. I'm running Version 1.4.0 of the downgrader atm myself but I am on 13411 so you would want Downgrade Version 1.5.0

  • Redownloaded 1.5.0 patcher and ran it. For funsies I ran it again after I ran it the first time, just in case because whatever. Interesting thing happened, that might be totally normal? Popped an error on the patcher on 87/1527 "Could not find file E:\Escapefromtarkov\aki\escapefromtarkov_data\level177

    After that it quits out.

NOW, that might be something the patcher was expecting to delete and I would've replaced once unpacking the 1.5.1 SPT file, but wanted to call it out just in case it's deleting something weird that might be doing this?

Edit: followup, same issue. Also, I did notice when unpacking 1.5.1 I'm not prompted to replace any files? Usually there would be conflicts it'd want to replace, right?

  • Yeah, seems weird. I'd recommend, at this point, a reinstall of Tarkov live game. Copy the files to a brand new directory, deleting the old, and re-trying. I fixed mine by nuking the archive, and reinstalling.

  • So I'm having trouble with the patcher and it won't scan or do whatever it does and I need some help with this.

you should make a new thread for your issue.

your second picture shows you extracted the downgrade patcher into a folder of its own instead of your spt folder

So that's what I did....and then it worked!? Which is weird because I think that was try number three. WHATEVER! Problem solved, thanks for sticking it out with me, what a weird run, eh?

    Sincerely, thank you!
