12.11 Animation Replacer 1.0.2

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.9.X

WIP! DO NOT USE FOR SERIOUS PLAYTHROUGHS! This mod attempts to replace current character animations with 12.11 animations. It is very buggy currently.

:!: Please realize that this is incredibly WIP, and has more bugs than I can count. This is mostly just a prototype, and I just want to put it out there to see if anyone else is interested and possibly get some help making it. :!:

For those who are unaware, in update 12.12 BSG changed all the game's animations. In my honest opinion, they just got worse in a lot of aspects. So this project is an attempt at bringing back the old animations for characters before 12.12 (specifically 12.11).

Personally I found the animations to be more satisfying, made the game feel a bit more fast paced and snappy. I miss them dearly, and so I am working hard to bring them back. pog

Here is a current list of bugs/issues that are needed to be fixed before I'd recommend you play with this "seriously"

  • The run animation is currently incorrectly positioned, and does not pivot downwards as intended. This causes the gun to be fully in view when running. (SOLVED)
  • This REMOVES vaulting and left shoulder swapping
  • Causes some hideout loading issues & other loading problems
  • Breaks blindfire
  • The character has a "hunchback" posture
  • (Untested) I assume this will break the BTR, or atleast make it look super weird.
  • Quick tapping A/D causes you to move the opposite direction.
  • Countless other issues I haven't seen yet. pepeclown

  • I can't seem to move left or right when ADS'd. As well I don't get the mag check animation during my sprint, once I start walking the animation shows. Been happening while using the HK.

  • issue I found jsyk!

    scavs and "pmcs" don't have to full animation so there arms are locked forward when running, don't know if this is an easy fix (I'm assuming not) not just wanted to put it out there!

  • This mod is very cool and reminds of the old tarkov style but there is one gripe, it seems to make a lot of stuff especially icons take much longer to load. Fix would be great! Thanks.

  • Im not sure if your aware but on SPT 3.9.8 it makes me have a infinite loading screen in the hideout

    • try to wait, I have it loading after 3 minutes. The author of the mod is aware of the problem

    • yeah you're correct, for me it was more like 6 minutes

    • I maybe wrong but preload hideout may make the time halved.


      Seems faster to me.

  • Like it says in the tin it is very buggy but I think it's really cool to see these animations resurrected from the dead. I hope this project continues to progress!

    me and a few other people have tried this out before, I don't think it's really possible to fix the running animations and blindfire without changing some code in the assembly (or using bepinex)

    • I suspected that, just gotta figure out where I need to be looking.

    • inside the bundles there's a few references to animation controllers. maybe there? or in the firearm animator classes

  • It is not a perfect solution, but my goodness. At long last, someone has created this mod. I have been waiting for someone to restore the old animations ever since they were eliminated from the game. I am grateful. I sincerely hope that you will see this mod through to completion, addressing most of the flaws <3 <3 <3


    By the way, I have noticed that there is no animation for lowering weapons when running. This animation now remains in the game only when hiding in the hideout and when depositing items for quests.

    • Just want you to know this ended up being the solution. I just now mimic what the hideout does when running lmao

      Guess that is also what Tarkov used to do because it brought back the issues of action queuing sucking
