Thought I'd share this WIP SAIN preset I've been tinkering with on 3.10 with the Realism Mod. The goal is to get bots that will be challenging but fair.
Realistic Combat Overhaul by Tritantrfl7 was used as a template for this preset.
Notes:
- Best used with Realism Mod and TarkovIRL as the preset is configured with these in mind
- Tarkov Weather System and Immersive Daylight Cycle recommended for extra immersion
- Configured with That's Lit installed
Key Differences from RCO Preset:
- Bot stats are scaled per difficulty level to allow for some randomness
- Bot aiming precision adjusted to reflect TarkovIRL handling
- Bots will struggle more to see you in poor weather conditions (goes well with TWS)
- General difficulty sliders are set to default to allow for simple difficulty tweaks
I'm open to suggestions on how to possibly improve this preset further as alot of testing is usually required to get bot configs just right.

THAT'S LIT Update:
Changes:
- Increased vision distance at night to 30% of base
- Some of the global vision speed settings have been disabled
- Global recoil increased to 1.75
- Bots now have a 10% chance to aim for the head
- Global Faster CQB has been disabled again
I don't recommend grabbing this update if you don't use That's Lit. These settings have been tweaked due to allow That's Lit to handle the majority of the bot's vision speeds. To compensate for (potentially) faster vision speeds, I've increased the global recoil multipler by 0.25. These changes have not been tested yet as I haven't been playing 3.10 as much lately, but as usual, let me know in the comments if you have any feedback
Thanks to fallenq for pointing out the That's Lit specific changes

1.0 release
Changes:
- Bot personality types now feature varied changes to their aggression values
- Bot hearing has been adjusted again in all areas (this is a tough one tbh. Probably still needs tweaking xD)
- Bot vision in poor weather has been buffed slightly (was finding that PMCs were struggling to see when it was just raining)
1.0 will not mean that I will stop making more changes to this preset, just that I will stop posting releases for every single change that I make. Updates past 1.0 will be based on your suggestions/feedback rather than my personal adjustments. The main issue really is getting hearing and vision speed just right, I'm pretty happy with their shooting skills when they actually do start fighting me.
Known issues:
- Bots sometimes get stuck on doors (This isn't something I can really fix with just the preset, consider it a free kill xD)
Note about 3.11:
I'm currently tinkering with presets on the SAIN test build that I will release whenever SAIN gets an official release on the hub

Version 0.9.4

Changes:
- Faster CQB Reactions are now scaled per difficulty level
- Tbh I don't actually remember if I made other changes xD
This preset is getting very close to being considered complete for the use case I planned it for. I think I will tinker a bit with the personalities beforehand however as per a commented suggestion.

Version 0.9.3
- theFEARhunterZ
- 50 Downloads
Changes:
- Global Faster CQB Reactions has been turned on as I felt that PMCs were reacting too slow up close (I may tune this further per difficulty/bot type)
- Slight hearing buff both generally and per difficulty
- Base vision distance per difficulty has been increased for PMCs (they're definitely not as blind now xD)
Remember that you can use the global difficulty sliders to make all bots easier or harder if necessary and of course, all feedback is welcome.
I also recommend that you set bot difficulty for PMCs and Scavs on your chosen spawn mod to AsOnline/Random if possible to get the max benefit out of the per difficulty settings.

Version 0.9.2

- 51 Downloads
Changes:
- All general difficulty sliders are now set to 1
- Bot hearing has been buffed a bit (this may need more adjustments)
- Scavs have received some more per difficulty stat changes
- Bot vision at night during snow/winter has been increased (this may need more adjustments)
-
Version 0.9.1
- theFEARhunterZ
- 36 Downloads
Changes:
- General difficulty multipliers reset to 1 (bot hearing still at 0.6)
- Bot vision in poor weather conditions nerfed a bit (when you see a bot snipe another one from 50+ meters in the thickest fog, you know a change is needed xD)
- PMC gain sight coef per difficulty level was backwards so I fixed that hopefully xD
Overall, the PMC bots might be slightly more accurate but should struggle more to gain visual in bad weather conditions. Future updates will be done with the general difficulty set to 1 so that you can make the bots easier or harder by just changing those values

Hey, so after the update, the bots feel blind and deaf. So yeah. It's preety bad
adishee
Epic, going to try this in 3.9 and see if it works good. Thanks for your work.
Nosliw
Hey man, just wanted to say that I appreciate the work you've put into this. I stopped playing SPT entirely in 3.10.5 because I only enjoy with realism but felt the AI was completely unfair compared to 3.9. I'm back on the grind thanks to you.
Forget all the haters on discord and their emoji reactivity - there are people out there who appriecate this!
theFEARhunterZ Author
Tbh I only really go on the Discord to lurk on the mod development threads xD
Glad you're enjoying the preset though!
Lukevale
IDK if this is just a skill issue, but I've had the bots just be absolute terminators when running this preset, compared to the default.
theFEARhunterZ Author
I'd recommend adjusting the global difficulty sliders for hearing, precision and accuracy.
Hearing: 0.6
Precision & Accuracy: 1.5
Start with that then readjust as you see fit
fallenq
Just a quick suggestion, or question, depends how you view it. Did you change the config for that's lit? I mean they have their own sain config section of the mod.
theFEARhunterZ Author
I never made any changes to That's Lit no
fallenq
No, like they have a tutorial for what you should change in sain when using sain and that's lit combined.
theFEARhunterZ Author
ahhh okay. Spose I can look into that
sunliang0901
你好
你这个SAIN预设有没有涉及到AI装备和武器预设,因为原版AI武器和装备都很差,谢谢
fallenq2
Hey, it's fallenq from a different acc. Ik how to fix the bots getting stuck, just disable the sain door handling, tho sometimes bots might phase through the door
theFEARhunterZ Author
Aight, appreciate the tip
fallenq
Yeah, so basically, the sain door handlinbg is terrible, and the bsg version is kinda better, tho you know, bots phase through doors sometimes.
theFEARhunterZ Author
Haha, I've seen them phase through doors regardless so I'm more than aware xD
fallenq
Ok, after the newest update, the bots are almost perfect. Something is missing, i think it might be a lack of better personalities. but idk really
theFEARhunterZ Author
I have considered tinkering with the personalities but I honestly have no clue where to start. Might fiddle with the aggression maybe. I've also added adjustments to the CQC reaction per difficulty in my current iteration
Brasiliano83
posso usare questa mod con moar?
theFEARhunterZ Author
yes
cleverboymt
May i request for a version without Realism and TarkovIRL? Or may be the RCO preset you initially used to tune the mod? I saw your comment on RCO mod from patch 3.9.
theFEARhunterZ Author
This preset should still be fair even without IRL. Adjusting the general difficulty sliders should work well enough if you want the bots to be a bit more accurate though
Qwertyalex
Ty for the update! One of the other comments made a good point, for the night stuff, That's Lit might help solve the night vision distance. I use That's Lit atm so will keep testing it out to see how the AI feels at night
theFEARhunterZ Author
I've got That's Lit installed too. I think I just had their vision distance at night turned down too much.
Qwertyalex
Ayy nice, glad to know that it's configured to have That's Lit installed, was wondering when I went back and checked the Realism+TarkovIRL and didn't see That's Lit in there as well.
Brasiliano83
3.11?ty
theFEARhunterZ Author
I won't be doing a 3.11 preset until the relevant mods are officially up to date
Brasiliano83
big thanks
fallenq
Well, so after some more testing i found that bots are just plain deaf. Like you actually decreased it too much i think.
theFEARhunterZ Author
They do seem to be a little on the deaf side. They're also a bit too blind at night so there is another update coming up
fallenq
Maybe try adjusting it for that's lit. It's often used and it would actually probably help u with some things like darkness vision etc.
fallenq
'll check the new update. Thanks for maintaining the preset.
fallenq
Hey, so i got a question should the general settings be standard? For example every setting in difficulty tab is set to 1.0
fallenq
Can i add you on discord? I think i found a weird thing with the sain preset system.
theFEARhunterZ Author
I adjusted them to sort of work with the other changes I made but feel free to change them however you want. I made this preset for a specific use case so it's fine if you need to readjust
fallenq
No, there is a bug that causes the preset to duplicate, and i don't know if it works correctly then.
fallenq
Nevermind you fixed it.
Jabroninextdoor
Compatible with older SPT namely 3.8?
theFEARhunterZ Author
Probably won't be but feel free to give it a shot. I'd recommend using this preset as a template to create a 3.8 compatible one
theFEARhunterZ Author
Note: I realised that I've turned off alot of the AI Limit features in this preset since my PC can handle it so definitely turn them back on if your FPS is struggling a bit. I can also upload a new version with them on by default if required
fallenq
Hey, so i was once trying to figure out bad bot behaviour while playing with friends, and the ai limit features were the issue. So yeah, disable them when playing with friends.
fallenq
Hey, so i gotta say that this is the best sain preset so far. So greatly balanced. I didn't really like the live like experience preset, but this is just great. Thank you so much, if a new version of sain releases could you also update this preset?
theFEARhunterZ Author
As mentioned in the description, this preset is being configured to balance around Realism and TarkovIRL together so it might be a while until it's all up to date for 3.11 but I will consider translating it over once its all sorted over there. Patience will indeed be required
nastya
Is 3.10 better than 3.11?
SenOS
For the modding scene yes, but infuriatingly SPT devs make older versions completely unobtainable so if you didn't download it while it was available you can't play with old mods
Saryn
You act like they do it intentionally to piss you off and not for the myriad of other extremely valid reasons that they simply can't work around. You can go build the 3.10 files, they're on the github. Figure out how to make a downgrade patcher. Everything is open source. You don't need to be "infuriated" with a bit of learning.
ZIZ
Internet Archive works too. That's what I did. No downgrading needed when you can just go through the spt website in Internet Archive and download the old versions.
theFEARhunterZ Author
Older versions aren't "impossible" to obtain if you know where to look. The devs just don't like talking about it mainly because they don't wanna be swamped with support requests for outdated versions. Basically if you want to play the older versions, you're on your own.
TurboGame64
find 52sierra guy, he know what to do 3.10.5 and 3.9.8 installation
Qwertyalex
Thanks for the upload! Am currently using RCO, so will give this a go and compare the two - Generally looks slightly more balanced for TarkovIRL? Am interested to see the exact value tweaks you've done to get it to play nice
theFEARhunterZ Author
I definitely will appreciate any feedback since I'm only one dude doing this for fun xD
It is balanced around having TarkovIRL added to Realism yes. I've essentially nerfed alot of the settings that affect the bots reaction time and precision since you generally need to take more time to make your own shots precise using IRL. I also started playing around with some of the advanced look settings to make them less responsive at night/poor weather conditions
Qwertyalex
Yeah, TWS' heavy fog is one I'm interested to see how it works with, since last thing I want it to get head-eyes'd by someone I can't see. Gave it a few raids last night and it definitely feels more forgiving than RCO, but still challenging.
theFEARhunterZ Author
Yeah one of the ones I tuned was the fog vision as I got sniped from 100+m on Woods at one point in heavy fog xD
fencethetrader
you're a life-saver man, thank you
