Fin's Choke Me Harder 1.3.0

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.10 or if they can upload older versions of their mods.
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

Some shotgun spread values are broken in the current (As of October. I haven't checked again since) release. This fixes those, and also allows the entering of custom spread values.

Check the config for additional information.


Note: The broken shotgun spreads are fixed right out of the box. No config changes need to be made in order for this to happen. The config only needs to be altered if you want to specifically customize a shotgun's spread.

    In the previous version, shotguns with swappable barrels could not have their spread modified.


    A method for modifying the spread of any given barrel in the game, as well as finding out which barrels can attach to which item IDs, has been added.

    • As far as I'm aware it should still work with 2.1.2 (Though I've only tested it on 2.1.0, myself), as the format of the item files hasn't changed.

    I would assume this change would also apply on AI who are using shotgun? AI shotgun with any sort of buckshot had become extremely deadly.

    • I believe it does, but I'm not entirely certain.

  • So I assume this mod is specific to only BSG shotguns? Meaning, if I installed SamSWAT's Vepr-12 mod, then I would need to find the ID assigned to his new shotgun and input it into your config?


    If that is the case, then what number should I set the Vepr-12 to in order to be equivalent in spread to S12?

    • As long as this mod loads after Sam's mod, it can modify Sam's shotgun. -So just slap a 'z' or two in the front of the folder name and you should be good to go.

    • ok nevermind. I added a z to the beginning of your mods name and now it loads after SamSWAT's VEPR-12 mod so it detects the new shotgun and assigns the spread to be exactly the same as the S12.

  • Cant' figure out how that works... my line in the config looks like: "56dee2bdd2720bc8328b4567": 400, for the mp-153.... try some values between 1 and 400 in 20-50 steps... no change at all.
    What i did wrong??? anyway thx 4 the work !

    • I'm looking into this now, it looks like some shotguns play by different rules than other shotguns, and might use a different variable to decide their spread.


      Edit: So it seems that it doesn't work with any shotgun whose barrel you can change. I'm working on a fix now.


      Edit 2: A new update is out, and it should be possible to modify all shotguns now. However, it's a little more complicated than it was before, because for shotguns like the MP-153 you'll need to find the ID of the barrel whose spread you want to modify, instead of just modifying the shotgun via its main weapon ID.

      Edit: It works now fine :) hell of a fun with spread + peeper ammo from biggerbang with edit buckshot bullets to 600 :D :D :D
