Bleeding Edge A8.0 Unable to save progress

  • Hi everyone, first post here. I've been using/enjoying the A7 version of SP Tarkov for some time, but the inability to complete certain gunsmith tasks, and wanting the newer live server changes/barters/experiences made me want to explore the bleeding edge versions.

I'm not a code/file moron, and have done plenty of stuff like this in the past even though I'm not expert, and wangled my way around it. Everything works fine, except for some reason my actions are not saved/perpetuated to my user. Every time I close the game out etc, I lose all progress and am returned to a brand new account. I noticed that in the 7 older version there were frequent profile saves in the server window, but that doesn't happen in this version. I've tried a lot of things, reinstallnig the entire game, trying different versions etc but no joy- I can get the game to work and run fine, but it just won't save any progress so it's essentially useless.

Any help would be appreciated, if it's something simple I'm missing I apologise but I've definitely put a lot of my own troubleshooting time into it and come up dry.

    Cheers and thanks for everything.

  • Sorry, but no support for bleeding edge as stated in description:

    Quote

Unstable dev builds. Please use normal builds unless you know what you're doing.

THIS IS A BLEEDING EDGE BUILD, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

NO SUPPORT IS PROVIDED FOR THESE BUILDS.

PS: if you want quests/barter/hideout from R8 in R7 - you may try experimental section in my QoL configurator. Otherwise wait for stable R8 release or take dev's sources and do what you can

  • Aye I did see that, but stupidly I thought it just meant there was no official resources or tutorials and you're kinda on your own in troubleshooting getting it to run- unless you come across a bit of a weird issue where people would have knowledge and help you with the odd thing. Something like a community support section in a forum maybe.

Evidently that was optimistic. My mistake. Rules must be upheld after all, otherwise madness would reign supreme I'm sure.

I rolled back to 7.3 and will just use that as it works fine and was an upgrade over 7.1 I was using in some aspects anyway.

It is not about blindly upholding rules. It is about devs build are not meant to work correctly because they are work in progress, so it would be a waste of time to dig individual errors until planned development scope is completed. Like you are not meant to use for racing car that is only 75% assembled even if it can be moved.
