How do I migrate a User Profile when upgrading from an older to a newer version of SPT-AKI server?

    First of all, thank you for your excellent work with SPT-AKI, which I am thoroughly enjoying.


    I am trying to upgrade my install from Version 1.0.0-A73 and game version 0.12.9.10532

    .... to Version 1.0.0-B4 or better and game version 0.12.10.11661


    I copied my User Profile from the old install into the User\Profile directory of the new install. When I attempt to load it I receive an error message "Incorrect User Name or Password" although this is not the case.


    I have no problem starting a new profile with the new SPT-AKI version, but I would like to hold onto the progress I have made so far and not have to start over from scratch.


    I would appreciate any guidance.

    Yeah unfortunately it is not as easy as that, or even possible.

    You could create a new char, and try past in skills inventory and whatnot, but you would need to ensure the syntax is correct (I have not attempted such a feat so I don't know what challenges may await.)

    Oh my God! Brilliant!


    I made a new install of Version B5. Copied over my old profile.json to the /User/Profiles directory. Made the simple little change suggested by Andrudis and, when I started the game, it opened up my profile without a hiccup. All of my level, experience, quests, stash items just as before.


    As we all know, it's not very often that there's an easy solution, kanawow but it is SO nice when there is occasionally an easy fix.

    OK it is of note that whilst this may appear to work at first glance, there is a very high possibility of this causing unwelcome issues down the line.
    If you encounter issue do NOT ask for support. The solution will be to start with a fresh profile.
