Laptop crashed while Tarkov was running and now it won't start up anymore.

  • I turned on Tarkov like normal and left it running while watching YT on my second monitor. All of a sudden, my laptop blue screened and auto restarted. After it restarted, I thought everything was normal and started up Tarkov again and this happened. I do have a "user" backup folder but it's very old. Though the old "user" backup folder works perfectly but all my progress is lost. Someone please help.

  • It sounds like it has bricked your profile dude :( Check to see if everything looks normal, The error itself is pointing to a null character near the end of your profile (that's my guess anyway) You may be able to tidy things up, but maybe not.

Oh man. But I don't know how though. My coding skills are only beginner level. :'v Unless I use my old "user" as a ref and slowly and painfully check and retype everything back in place. But I'm not sure if they're the same or not though. If nothing works, looks like I'm restarting from level 16. *Sigh* Should've backed up my newest "user" file.

  • When you open it (right click edit with notepad++ / vscodium etc) Is it a nice looking file throughout / empty / a garbled mess of null / a mess of null towards the end of the file?
Although by the sounds of it you will have to start over, you can use the profile editor to edit back some of your progress.

  • Check you profile .json file - most likely it is corrupted. Whether it can be recovered or not depends on how bad it is now

I'm not really sure what's the problem here. ;( My coding skills are just beginner level. But I'll give it a look. Hopefully I can figure it out. If nothing works, looks like I'm restarting from level 16. *Sigh*

Well, some good news. Everything looks nice and orderly but towards the very end, just a "null". Only this part looks suspicious but the rest from top till that part looks okay? I'm not really sure.
