[DEPRECATED] Small Cases - Now With Fannypack! 1.0.2

A collection of small cases to make the early game a little less tedious, and a custom fannypack that can go into the third special slot for extended inventory jankiness! Hurry, while supplies last!

Install Instructions:

- This mod has ZERO requirements!

- Simply drag the users folder from the download into your main SPT folder! If you did everything correct you should have two new mods in your users/mods directory, zFannyPack and zSmallCases!

Get ready for the ultimate upgrade, folks, because we're introducing not one, not two, but EIGHT mind-blowing new cases! These cases are the answer to all your early game woes, making your journey through Tarkov a breeze!


  • Small Ammopouch: A small pouch that has a 3x2 internal grid to store ammunition. (Prapor sells this at level 1)
  • Small Docscase: A small docscase with a 2x4 internal grid to store documents, money, and keycards. (Therapist sells this at level 1)
  • Small Keychain: A small keyring with a 2x3 internal grid to store keys. (Therapist sells this at level 1)
  • Lunchbox: A luncbox with a 3x3 internal grid to store your food and drinks. (Jaegar sells this at level 1)
  • Medicine Pouch: A medicine pouch with a 3x4 internal grid to store all your meds. (Therapist sells this at level 1)
  • Magdump Pouch: A small pouch with a 4x4 internal grid to store your mags. (Prapor sells this at level 1)
  • Toolcase: A toolcase with a 4x3 internal grid to store all your tools. (Mechanic sells this at level 1)
  • Small Scavcase: A small case with a 8x5 internal grid to store all your junk. (Therapist sells this at level 1)


All of these cases are added to traders, and added to assault, usec, and bear loot.

But wait, there's more! If you take action right now, we're throwing in a bonus item that will leave you in awe: the one and only Fannypack! That's right, folks, the Fannypack is your secret weapon for carrying all that precious loot in style! It's like having a portable treasure chest strapped to your hip!

  • Fannypack: A slick pouch with a 2x6 internal grid. Great way to hold all these new cases, or anything you want really. (Ragman sells this at level 1)

What sets the fannypack aside from the rest is it can go in the third special slot! The fannypack now works as a (janky) extension to the player inventory, allowing you to see half of the inventory of the fannypack without opening it.


NOTE: THIS IS INTENDED JANKINESS. The way BSG coded these slots is the same exact way a backpack or chestrig slot works, when you put the item inside the slot the inventory appears automatically. Because of where those slots are, placing the bag in slot 1 or 2 would overlap slot 3. By putting it in slot 3, you won't be overlapping any slots but you WILL have half of the Fannypack overlapped by the inventory screen. (see image above)


You can still open the bag inventory by double clicking on it/right click and open. I wish I could move the inventory of the Fannypack slightly to the left, but that's beyond my means lol. So for now, we get half of a new backpack added to our inventory.

As far as insurance is concerned, it's a little weird and honestly needs more testing lol. Some items will stay with you on death like a secure case, other items are lost on death. Here is an example I just tested:
I had the Fannypack with each of the small cases containing one or two items. out of everything I packed (key in the keytool, water in the lunchbox, keycard money and key in the docs, ammo in the ammopouch, and a grizzly in the medpouch) I only lost the keys and keycard on death. I am in NO WAY guaranteeing you won't lose items in the Fannypack, but there is a chance lol. Only put items that are expendable in the Fannypack, I am NOT responsible for you losing all your keys because you didn't read this description lol.


The Fannypack is added to usec, bear, pmcbot, and assault bots.


Big shoutout to Jehree's custom case framework for doing all the legwork! All I did was tweak a few things to add special slot support (thanks to jbs4bmx Special Slots), and ended up making the case framework support multiple cases so this mod didn't need to be 6 separate folders lol.

NONE of this would have been possible without SSH's SDK and tutorials, I would have been absolutely lost making any of this without guidance lol.


KNOWN BUGS:
- The Fannypack appears on the character when in the backpack slot, but does NOT appear when in the specials slot.

PLANNED FEATURES:
- More cases, possibly larger variants? If you have any suggestions leave a comment!

- Find a way to display the fannypack while it is in the special slot

- Find a way to move the inventory screen for the fannypack so it doesn't clip.

  • I'm getting a very weird bug with this. I deleted all files and code other than those for the ammo pouch. Attaching the pouch to the armband slot makes the character move backwards continuously. I can't move forward at all. Placing the pouch in another slot doesn't do this. Any ideas?

    • The ammo pouch doesn't have a loot model, so it can't go in the armband slot lololol. Also, this mod is no longer supported, download the new version here:

    • what do you mean by 'loot model' ? And it DOES go in the armband slot, it just causes a movement bug. So what is causing this? Thanks.

    • My bad, i meant skin model. For an item to be wearable, it has two separate models, a loot model and a skin model.
      You're trying to put an item that ISNT WEARABLE into a slot that shows items you wear. BAD idea.

    Thought I'd do some due diligence and help some of y'all out.


    Context:

    I use 1.0.1 version of this mod.

    I have 3.7.4 SPT.


    Issue I was having:

    Loading into any map with raiders and Glukhar Boss and his followers will spit out the following errors:

    I managed to troubleshoot and track down this mod to be the culprit.


    Scavs and PMCs spawned fine with all items from this mod.

    It was Raiders and Glukhar that was having issues specifically.

    This in turn broke spawns for Raiders and Glukhar.


    My Fix

    *I personally only wanted Scavs to have these items.*

    (IE. Scavs to only be able to spawn with FannyPacks and SmallCases).*


    You can go to the mod.ts files for both aSmallCases and aFannyPack and edit the lines of codes that gives items to the Bots.


    The mod.ts files will be located in:

    • user/mods/aFannyPack/src
    • user/mods/aSmallCases/src

    Edit with notepad and find the lines that says // add case to bots.

    You can comment out the lines for the bots that you DON'T want.


    IE.

    This will prevent the respective bots to NOT spawn with the mod items.

  • Sadly it's not working at all for 3.7.3. Items don't show up on traders or flea and I can't add them through profile editor either. I know it's going to be integrated into the WTT mod further down the line but would you mind doing a hotfix for 3.7.3/.4?

  • I get no errors and the items exist just fine at respective trader levels / work as intended

    my issue is that none of these mod added items can show up in the flea when i right click > filter by item

    its fine if they don't show up as player sold, but they aren't showing up even from vendors, or when i drop down the "container" filter. idk if its an indexing issue or a mod incompatibility

    It combined 2 mods I previously used, 1 now outdated, as well as other mods I sometimes used. And not only are the case sizes pretty balanced, the cases look AWESOME and are very immersive!!!!

  • Such an awesome mod! It really makes starting a new profile much more fun as I hate having a messy stash. Quick question: is it possible to allow the Small Keychain to go inside the Small Documents Case? That way I can hold cash, maybe an intel, a flash drive, as well as my keys and still have two spots open in my Alpha container. Thanks mate, and happy holidays!


    EDIT: Holy crap I actually figured it out. If anyone else wants to know, open the config for the Small Keychain (itemconfig3) and then find the line that looks like this:

    "case_allowed_in": [""],


    and change it to this:

    "case_allowed_in": ["groovey_docscase"],


    Now you can put the Small Keychain inside the Small Documents Case

    • I agree.

      This helps with stash organization, as well as giving just a little boost in the early game. Not a lot, as the cases are balanced in both size and cost.

  • Weird thing... the "small scavcase" , 2x4 40 slots, seems like it holds EVERYTHING except the stuff you'd think... inverted allowed items? idk but this seems unintended based on the description. <3 love the mod

  • I have had problems with no AI spawning but I found that if you remove the ability for the cases to spawn on AI they will start spawning again

  • it would be cool to be able to find these around the place as loose loot or in stashes sometimes :)

  • Just a thought rn, i think this might help. Look at the Ammo pouch mod by Le_kaiju. IIRC when you put the ammo pouch on your armband slot it appears on the character model. If you manage to do something like that it might show the fanny pack on the character model. I hope this idea might help :)

  • I ran into a bug where bots don't spawn in labs with aFannyPack installed this only happens in labs as every other map works with the mod installed.

    • I don't see where that's coming from my mod. I'll test a bit when I get a chance, but it might be another mod causing it.

    • I did a little bit more testing, where I only had the aFannyPack mod installed so it maybe a deeper issue other than the mod itself.

    • I have encountered this problem too, with some more testing I found out that this happens when fanny pack is insurance and equiped on special slot, and after a death this will starts to trigger causing bot doesn't spawn on certain map.


      At my cases my first encounter was on Woods and I thought I might mess up with the item.Json and reinstall SPT but still happens.


      Thanks to cwhandersen suggestion, removing aFannyPack & aSmallCases mod everything back to normal.

      Reinstall back the mod may trigger again upon upper situation.


      After several test and reinstall, it happens upon death with insurance fanny pack on special slot on that map. Then after that every time you entered this map will have this bot spawn issue.


      Not sure if is affected with the insurance and special slot equip thingy but this might be a window. And it happens on 3.7.1 , my friend playing with 3.6.7 works fine :/ and I have no issue when was playing on 3.6.1-3.6.7.

    • I'm getting that error as well, I have the latest version and I don't have any of the modded items on my character
      It doesn't happen often, I've had to start a good amount of raids to make sure it was tied to this mod

    I just installed the mod for the first time, thanks for your work.

    I get some error when starting the server saying both files are for another version of the game but the mod loads. I could buy them from respective vendor, so it seems to work.


    Should i care about those 2 error line?

    • I get the same error in my server start up. I did have the old version installed and thought it was connected to that. My opinion is that he has changed the folder location and updated all the required code but not removed the zcases folder and its still looking for it but cannot find it.


      Ihave had zero issues with the mod and believe you wont either

    • I was just lazy and updated the version for the modpage but not the actual files :S
      Mod works fine, just needs 3.5.x updated to 3.6.x in the package.json

  • Out of curiosity, is it possible to label these as a container and the type e.g the small medical pouch is a container and also medical equipment, so that once you have the medical case the pouch can be stored inside the medical case and so on and so forth with the lunch box, tool wrap (for those that use handy toolbox), dump pouch....you get the idea
