MAPE (Make Armor Plate Effective) 1.3.0

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.9.X
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

Make armor plates to protect you like old tarkov (not completely)

DO NOT USE WITH REALISM MOD'S BALLISTICS FEATURE

If you want to use both mods, turn off realism's ballistics feature. (thanks GMAK3R for testing ;) )


And also if you are using SAIN and feel like this mod does nothing, try raising bot's scatter multiplier.


What is this?

This mod makes armor plates to work like old tarkov. (not completely same)


How it works?

Armor and Armor plate's hitboxes use character's body hitboxes(Thorax, Stomach, ...) instead of BSG's actual plate hitboxes(FR Plate, BK Plate).

This feature is applied to not only player but also every characters (scav, boss, ... everyone). So TTK will be much longer than before.


Customization?

You can change some configs(Protection Type, Additional custom items, Armor plate protectable area.. and so on) in config/config.jsonc

I wrote comments in detail, so I believe you can understand them.

  • I've tried to do some editing with your mod and can't seem to make MoxoPixel's mod Tactical Gear Components mod work with yours. The plate carriers aren't showing any armored areas.

  • Hey I've been using custom plate mods and am running into the trouble of the custom plates not having armored areas assigned to them. Is there any way to integrate your mod with my custom plates?

  • I don't know if it's just me but for the armor plate on 6B13 assault armor (Flora) the armor plate doesn't have armor areas. which I think will make the bullet pass through.

    • If you are using SAIN, try changing its options. Turn off PMCSAimForHead and raise recoil scatter multiplier in bot settings. It worked for me.

  • Sorry, but in the game the armor plates stopped performing their function of protection, the damage began to pass into the body through the armor, leaving the armor plates intact, is this how it should be?

    • Check if you have other mod that affects to armor system or try changing mod order to the last.

      And also if you are using incompatible custom mod's armor, you have to add them manually in config.jsonc.

  • Does this work with realism without the armor changes?

    • I'm not sure because I don't use realism mod and haven't tested it. But I think it might work. Just test it yourself.

  • Currently you need to make a new folder for MAPE, I suggest making it Mape (ZIP), MAPE, contents of mape.
