WTT- Brügger & Thomet APC556/APC9 1.0.1

The sun glistened through the trees as we silently approached the rendezvous point. We’d been briefed on the meet—a no-nonsense arms deal with Peacekeeper, the elusive trader who ran things out of a souped-up UN Tigr vehicle. A few of us had done business with him before, but it was always a tense affair. He wasn’t the kind of guy to trade pleasantries, and you sure as hell didn’t want to mess with him.

The air was thick with the smell of burnt rubber and decay, the kind of stench you get used to in Tarkov, but today it felt heavier, like something was coming. The radio silence between us spoke volumes—no one was eager to break it.

The Tigr rolled in, its massive frame kicking up dust in its wake. The sound of the engine rumbled through the air like thunder, and even from here, we could see Peacekeeper inside. The truck came to a stop with military precision, the heavy wheels crunching one last time before the engine cut out.

We didn’t move at first. Everyone knew the drill. Stay sharp, keep your distance, and let him make the first move.

Peacekeeper climbed out slowly, his silhouette framed against the dying light of the day. His face was hidden behind a pair of black sunglasses, and his gait was steady, deliberate. He didn’t seem concerned about us, but then again, he never did. A few of the guys shifted, adjusting their gear, but no one said a word. We weren’t here to chat.

He walked toward the back of his SUV, one hand resting on the rifle slung across his back. The rest of us kept our hands close to our weapons, just in case. Peacekeeper wasn’t the type to initiate a firefight, but in Tarkov, anything could happen.

The distinct click of the rear compartment unlocking echoed in the air, cutting through the silence. Peacekeeper bent down and popped open the trunk, revealing a large, rugged weapon case nestled inside. He took a moment to assess the situation, eyes scanning us briefly before he got to work.

The case opened with a low hiss, revealing two pristine weapons laid out inside: the B&T APC556 assault rifle and its compact cousin, the B&T APC9 submachine gun. Both gleamed under the low light, their Swiss craftsmanship shining through despite the grime of Tarkov’s constant warfare. The rifles were sleek and mean-looking—exactly what you’d expect from a high-end European manufacturer.

“Here’s the deal,” Peacekeeper’s voice was smooth, but there was a cold edge to it, the kind you’d expect from a man who had seen the worst this hellhole had to offer. “The APC556, 975 USD. The APC9, 834. Both come with the full kit.”

His words hung in the air, and for a moment, I almost forgot to breathe. It wasn’t just the price—it was the sheer quality of the gear he was offering. These weren’t the makeshift pieces of shit you find in Tarkov's black market. This was Swiss precision, and every PMC operator here knew the value of that.

The scar-faced guy to my right spoke first, his voice gruff. "What’s the catch, Peacekeeper? You don’t show up out here with that without a reason."

Peacekeeper’s lips curled slightly, but there was no warmth behind it. “The catch?” he repeated. “The catch is you’re getting a deal. You won’t find this anywhere else in Tarkov, not without paying double, at least.”

He reached for the APC556 and lifted it out of the case, holding it up for us to see. The rifle was light but solid in his hands, the barrel gleaming in the fading sunlight. It was beautiful. And lethal.

“We’re all trying to stay alive here, gentlemen,” Peacekeeper said, eyeing us all with a sort of detached amusement. “This will help.”

A few of the guys exchanged looks, then nodded. The scar-faced one spoke up again, tapping his fingers against the rifle slung across his chest. "You know what? I’ll take one of each."

Peacekeeper didn’t hesitate. He had the smile of someone who’d done this a hundred times, and the transaction went smoother than expected. Cash was exchanged—silent, fast—and the weapons were packed away. No words, no handshake, just business.

The deal was done, and just like that, Peacekeeper slid the case shut, locking it with the same deliberate care he’d opened it with. He gave us one last glance—his dark sunglasses hiding whatever emotions he was feeling, if any—before stepping back toward the Tigr.

“Pleasure doing business,” he said without a hint of sarcasm.

With that, Peacekeeper climbed into the driver’s seat, the engine roaring to life. He didn’t wait around for goodbyes. He didn’t need to. The Tigr pulled away, kicking up more dust as it disappeared down the road, leaving us standing there with our new toys and a reminder that in Tarkov, even the smallest of deals came with a price.

I looked down at the weapons in my hands, the cold metal a reminder that tomorrow would come, and the fight would keep going. But for now, I had one of the finest pieces of hardware this hellhole had ever seen, and for a moment, that was enough.

We loaded up and hit the road, knowing this was just another day in Tarkov—another deal struck in a place where trust was a luxury and survival was the only currency that mattered.

What is Welcome To Tarkov?

Welcome To Tarkov (WTT) is a mod for SPT AKI that has been in development for over a year. What started as a small passion project has grown in size to incorporate 10+ core members as well as contributions from other well-known mod authors and friends of WTT alike.

How does Welcome To Tarkov change the game?

As a mod, WTT overhauls SPT AKI, touching on almost every vanilla game system, as well as adding completely new systems to the game and its core mechanics. Inspired by open-world hardcore survival projects like STALKER: Anomaly and STALKER: GAMMA, WTT takes SPT’s artificial multiplayer MMO difficulty adders and replaces them with a challenging world economy, loot scarcity rebalancing, a lore friendly quest overhaul, and a map-traveling system built from rewritten portions of the Traveler mod allowing seamless travel between maps. Aside from its changes to the game’s core properties, WTT also adds to the world’s variety of traders, NPC’s, characters, items, and quests:

• Over 500 custom bundles adding new weapons, attachments, wearables, containers, food, medical, and barter items.
• New bosses with their own custom gear that will be properly incorporated into WTT’s quest lines.
• New, meaningful traders with their own lore-friendly quests and narrative elements to help the player progress through the story-line of WTT.
• New playable characters and outfits that will add to the player’s customization abilities.
• New quest types incorporating brand new map extraction points, putting the player’s knowledge and familiarization of SPT’s maps to the test.

Welcome To Tarkov stands as one of the largest mods created for SPT AKI thus far.
