SAIN - Solarint's AI Modifications - Full AI Combat System Replacement

  • I personally turned off "chase distant shots" on all personalities and tuned down hearing distance multiplier on Scavs. Now it is not as prevalent, but not totally solved unfortunately

    I might do the same, but I'm actually getting used to the waves of terminator bots coming my way.

    Because they either do that, or sit and spin in some far off corner of the map. I don't know if it's SAIN alone, or a combination with another mod. I tried to make sure that wasn't the case, but I could have missed some checked box somewhere or a true/false boolean in the config code.

    The vast majority of the mods I'm using are QoL mods, like UI changes, graphics settings, hideout features, with a few weapon mods sprinkled in. The only mod I can think of that would directly affect AI would be a raid overhaul mod. I use SVM, but changed nothing for the AI for the above stated reason. Compatibility.

    My list of mods merely existing at the same time might do it, but I'm not a coder/modder so it's just a guess.

    If you do not have Looting Bots or Questing Bots installed this may be part of the issue, as without these mods bots will tend to only really stay in one place and react to sounds near them.

  • Same here, never had this issue previously with any version of sain.

    Pretty much every raid this happens.

    Getting really frustrating seeing these floating guns and realizing you're not getting sh*t for fighting that guy :)


    I'm having a lot of trouble with bots that constantly find my location and focus their attacks on me. As soon as I engage one bot and try to loot items, other bots immediately find me, which is very disruptive. This is really frustrating and seems a bit illogical. How can I fix this?

    This is the whole point of the game!!!???? Are you trolling? yes you fire guns, they are loud, players hear you, they come to your location and try to kill you :) I have found ALOT of people that i have talked to that use SAIN are under the impression that although they are Bots and in reality we all know this ....They are not Programmed to ACT LIKE "BOTS" and i am blessed to say they don't. I hear clearly what your saying because i laughed out loud to myself the first time i shot from inside a building then had 4 curious players show up,...Just like they would if i were playing Vanilla EFT PvP!! . I can give you TACTICAL ADVICE since the "Bots" in SAIN actually Do act like Soldier's and will investigate if they are in your "Sector" we will call it. Once you engage an enemy and kill him DO Not Stay At That Location For Long, same thing with sniping depending how far away you are and who is in your parameter that you are unaware of. i sneak up to the building across from Building #4 on customs (by factory door to gas station) i know that if Rashala is at gas i have a good chance of a kill, but if i get the kill I NEVER STAY THERE! because now....enemies incoming, with Drax Big brain, etc with advanced meshes.....the guards will come to the Last location they heard the shots from or where engaged from, they climb up stairs they never used to and find their way to your location which what seems like at any cost,..lol. i play SAIN on "Default"...Its more than enough for me and after this last 2nd to last update it now plays EXACTLY as the "preset" you save, so i cannot speak to the fact that if you choose "Baby Bots" say that they will chase you as aggressively when you engage, maybe that's something I SHOULD TRY!!! just to see the difference....now i am curious..........But on "Default" i have almost NEVER had a game where they Didnt come looking for me.....

    Why are you being so aggressive and calling someone a troll, when they're legitimately trying to understand what's happening with the mod?

    The point isn't that bots are finding us. We know they will. It's that they're finding us, in waves, EXACTLY where we are. Regardless of tactics or range.

    The only time a bot hasn't instantly sprinted for my hiding spot that's 2 floors up, and 3 doors into a building ... AFTER having fired only 2-3 shots ... is when they're on the other side of the map. I've moved after killing a bot with a heavily suppressed weapon, and was found by a bot that ran right to my position that was 100+ yards away and in a different building.

    Some gun setups are so quiet, that you need to be right next to them to hear the shot. Otherwise, all you hear is the crack of the bullet flying by from who knows where and yet ... the bots are finding us exactly where we are.

  • very sorry been playing this everyday and i have never had a problem like that AT ALL, so maybe i am just lucky..not trying to be "Aggressive"....i understand the MOD has its challenges meaning there are bugs in the mod, it just seems like some users don't understand that sometimes even in VANILLA EFT ....enemies show up in "Waves" just a fact, i think it actually does happen to me but i just think its "normal" since well i am playing a game where the MAIN OBJECTIVE is of ALL PLAYERS ON THE MAP TO KILL EACH OTHER, so i never thought that was out of place, i in turn really believe that people make comments out of frustration and since its a customizable mod some people believe that that means you "program" the MOD the way you want and then go into the raid expecting it to act EXACTLY as you imagine it will....which i never do, that is fiction since there will ALWAYS be "unscripted" and "unpredictable" behavior. To think everything will behave as you wish it no matter how much you try to control it is pure fantasy and i was just calling that out, if there are 13 bots around my parameter and i make alot of noise...they will all to varying degrees try to come and find me............i hope that never changes!!!!

    i have played 6 different iterations of SAIN and this happens to me all the time so i have no idea what you experienced, no matter where i am if i make enough noise MANY bots come to visit me in waves, sometimes its 4 bots, sometimes 14......i can never tell AND THAT IS WHY I THINK THIS MOD IS GREAT!!!!! its completely unpredictable!....LIKE "REAL" life.

  • I have looked at the error log and it seems that you are getting frequent errors.

    Can you tell what kind of errors?
