Installation

Copy CactusPie.FastSearch.dll to BepInEx\plugins directory


Settings (F12 menu)

  • Search time multiplier - how fast the items will be revealed while searching, based on the original value. By default, it's set to 0%, which means everything will be revealed immediately. Setting it to 50% will make the items get revealed twice as fast as normally, 25% will make them get revealed four times as fast etc.
  • Search initial delay - whether the delay before initiating the search is enabled. Without this mod, when you press "Search" there will be a small delay before items start getting revealed - leaving this checkbox unchecked will disable that delay. Tick this checkbox if you want to restore the original behavior. This delay is independent of the search time multiplier, which means that if it's enabled it will always take the same amount of time, regardless of the multiplier you set for revealing items.
  • Instantly reveal everything - this will combine the two options above and instantly reveal everything. The difference here is that you will no longer need to press the search button. This setting overrides Search time multiplier and Search initial delay and ignores them completely.

    • Thanks, but I'm not seeing the "Instant Reveal" config option in this version, which removes needing to click on "search". Is it not needed anymore?

    • If you set it to 0 seconds, thats as good as instant?

    • Yeah it is, but you still have to click "search" on the backpack, pockets, etc. when looting enemies. The old mod had a cfg setting so that all of those were already opened when you search the body.

  • Yepp, works great for 3.8.0, 3.81 and 3.8.3. I've been using this for a long time. The vanilla EFT searching speed is way too slow. Being able to configure the speed to my liking is great. Wouldn't be the same to play without this mod.

  • Any plans to update for 3.8.0? would love to get back time waiting for items to search up :P


    Unlike below comments, I tested the old mod in 3.8.0 (not expecting it to work) and my experience was that the none of the dynamic loot spawns happen (e.g. crates, duffle, etc.) only the statics. Assume this part was reworked in 3.8.0 hence it not working.

    • I kept the tag at 3.7.3 because that's what I'm running and that's what compiled the mod with. It should still work for 3.7.4

  • A bit late, but I uploaded a version modified by scarydzik and DrakiaXYZ. It will work with 3.7.2 and likely with future releases too

  • I can confirm this does not work with 3.7.0/3.7.1 currently.

    I have 3.6.1 and downloaded your latest version that you posted below on 8/20/23, however it doesn't seem to be working. I've confirmed it is in the right folder (bepinex/plugins) where all my other .dll mods are that work.

    Perhaps it doesn't work with one of those mods?

    There is even an option if SVM for "examining time" which i set to the lowest value of 0.05. I am assuming there must be a conflict somewhere that is overriding these instant searches?

    I want to play this game as a shooter, not a search simulator LOL

    • While this works, it does use the super annoying sound effect for the L51 ability. I very much appreciated FFS as it worked around that and I could search in silence. :)
