EFT SCOPE AND RED DOT SIGHT OVERHAUL BY GEFF HANNIGAN - Reupload 1.0.4

Please do not ask when mod authors will update their mods to 3.9.X
Bothering mod authors will lead to warnings and repeat offenses will lead to eventual bans.

Geff's scope overhaul, just updated to work properly for latest SPT versions

All credit to the original author (please come back ;(), this is just a re-upload because some people were having trouble getting it running for SPT 3.5.x. I haven't modified any of the bundles or added new ones.

    • Is this working?

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR UPDATING THIS TO 3.9X!

  • Most of scopes gets black 3.9.8.

    Crying 1
    • having the same issue and the game crashes

    • Same issue here, I've only noticed it with the tan HHS so far, but it's a cursed optic apparently, I just love the ease of use with it... boo.

5x scope goes black while leaning(as moving, comes back once you stop moving) Probably to do with the vignette effect on the scope.

  • Higher zeroing for scopes would be awesome for playing with Amands Graphics.

  • Current load order for our Server. Issue is it seems like the ACOG4Life-OpticRework is not working as intended. When switching zoom levels, there is no change in reticles, and there is no audible click or animation.

I created a folder with the name as instructed many times below and extracted the contents accordingly.

  • Install instructions copied from ExcessiveBananas, who copied from LaserBidet. Since I'm installing this mod currently, may as well repost the instructions so they're at the top.

Make a new folder in your user/mods folder and name it "ACOG4Life-OpticRework" without quotes.

Then extract all files from the .zip into that folder.

  • Would it be possible to overhaul the "sig tango6t 1-6x24" sight?

  • The HHS-1zoomed reticle shakes for me which makes shooting almost impossible

    • BSG bug. has existed and been reported since the game was first created. Smh

  • Should my scopes change reticles based on zoom level? (like valday etc.) because for me on all zoom levels the reticle stays the same :(

  • does anyone know how i would go about altering the optic eye relief?

  • All has been good so far! This mod seems to turn the March Tactical and Leupold Mk 4 30mm rifle scopes into 1x-16x scopes only, vs their vanilla variable magnification. Odd bug, but hope it gets fixed sometime!

  • Hey Fontaine, the Eotech HHS-1 sight tan had a green reticle when I first put it on my gun as detailed in the EFT Scope and Red Dot Sight Overhaul by Geff Hannigan but then after a raid it changed back to the original red reticle.

Would you have any idea what might cause this so I can try to debug?

  • sorry if this is a dumb question but where do i drop the files

    • Make a new folder in your user/mods folder and name it "ACOG4Life-OpticRework" without quotes.

Then extract all files from the .zip into that folder.

This came from LaserBidet who bought this up below. I'm just posting it so others don't have to dig for it.

    • ty alot i really appreciate the help

  • You are a god for updating this to 3.9.2

  • Made this work for myself in 3.9 by changing the line "akiVersion: 3.x.x" to "sptVersion": "3.9.x" in the package.json

I haven't gotten anything conflicting with it so far, although my modlist is quite vanilla.

    Thumbs Up 4
  • Thank you for the update Fontaine!

Are there any plans to update it for 3.9.x?

  • why pk-06 blue?

  • Overall I really like the changes to the optics reticles, but does anyone know a way to revert specific reticles back to their original? For example, I would prefer the original HHS reticles compared to the reworked ones and I would only like to revert those two.

  • Been trying to get this working on my server to no avail. I installed both the server and client mods on both machines.

  • Thank you once again for updating this!!! I love this mod!!! The game seems so weird playing without this.

  • when using the 1x on the Vudu i get a super scuffed image. only noticed it there. super blurry. when i zoom it it looks crisp. any ideas on how to fix it?

  • I have no idea what mod this issue is related to. But for some reason using this mod and FOV fix when I use certain sights (example the Leupold Mark 4 LR 6.5-20x50 30mm riflescope, or the March Tactical 3-24x42 FFP 30mm riflescope) They zoom all the way down to 1x and get stuck at that zoom level. Idk how and why this is happening.

    • Load order issue. Make sure FOV Fix loads after the scope after the overhaul. The install instructions over on FOV Fix give more info.

    • Thank you so much I missed it!

  • Is it possible that you add more zero steps? With Amand's graphics it's very easy to see at long ranges with the big scopes but the bullet drop is so high you have to use buildings to aim since even when zoomed out the crosshair needs to be so high the target is outside of the scope visual cone. For exemple the bullet drop of m62 at 1200m is about 40meters. The maximum zero is 650m but that only reduces the drop to 30meters.
It would be nice it the zero steps were like the "sighting range" that each scope has. I would be glad to change the values myself and tell everyone how to but I have no clue where and what to change.

  • Is there any way to get this mod's changes to apply to a modded scope? I want to apply this mod's effects to the "Vortex Razor HD Gen.2 (Black)" scope added by the "BlackCore" mod. Changing load order doesn't work, so I'm wondering if there are any files I can swap out/rename or anything like that.

  • PSA for anyone who installs this and you have SPT setup with a separate machine on your network that runs the DB server and you play on a separate machine for the client.

If you do only the typical server install you will likely run into these errors and issues.

You will need to do additional steps to get this working.

    1. Copy the 'bundles' folder from the mod zip to a separate USB drive
    2. Copy the folder to your client machine
    3. Place that folder into the 'user/cache' folder in SPT for your client (Say yes to merge folders)

Loaded this as the last optics/FoV mod for my order.json on server mod list.

No errors and issues after and enjoying all the improved scope visuals.

    • Does it help with performance?

    • Modern hardware in the recent past year, nope. Older hardware like 8+ years ago. If it helps offload anything off your CPU. Minimal gains.

The client where you play the game handles the AI and all raid related things. The "Server" is just a DB server that manages profile data. trader info, etc. It's pretty lightweight TBH.

However this will be a current thing if you decide to use this in a "play with a friend" mod.

I just did it as experiment after seeing conflicting info on a reddit post.

    • I love how well you worded this!

    • Dude, Thank you so much. i spend a lot of time looking for a fix.

for anyone running this with fika try this and let me know if it works for you.

      HOW TO INSTALL BASE MOD

      1.DOWNLOAD ACOG4Life-OpticRework-SPT-380.ZIP

      2.EXTRACT ALL

3.PLACE EXTRACTED FOLDER ON YOUR spt folder /user/mods

      4.Example (SPT FOLDER /user/mods/ACOG4Life-OpticRework-SPT-380)

      With Fika and SPT install

      1.SPT FOLDER /user/mods/ACOG4Life-OpticRework-SPT-380

2.Then make a copy of the [Bundle] file from ACOG4Life-OpticRework-SPT-380- File

Should be something like this /user/mods/ACOG4Life-OpticRework-SPT-380/bundles <--- copy this file

3.Paste the file on your [CACHE]. EXAMPLE (SPT FOLDER /user/cache) Paste the copied file here and (Say yes to merge folders aka Replace) [PLEASE DO MAKE A COPY OF THE ORINIGAL FILE BEFORE REPLACING JUST INCASE IT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU].

Thank you fissionxmailed for making this post

    • Just a heads up KnightMaster and anyone else wondering. I have a Fika server setup for my friends with this running and it's working fine with all the other mods I have setup on server (About 30 or so).

For 3.8.0 - 3.8.2 clients had trouble downloading/requesting all the needed bundle files to add it to the cache in their local `SPT/user/cache`. You'd need to use the Async Bundle Loader client mod to properly handle it client side. Else clients will get what looks like "freezing" when it's the client basically trying to request all the assets it needs at once.

However one important thing to note is double check the bundle files in your mod install itself if it complains in the logs:
      - For the server logs it'll be when clients get the bundles on first launch
      - For client logs it'll be in the in-game console when you have the scope in inventory about the associated files

If you see those it's a weird file corruption error/failed extraction when you extract the whole zip at once. Took me several trials and errors installs to figure it out.

Once you have the files being referenced/named check the files being added to cache and make sure they're not anything unusual compared to the rest (1 kb vs +1000 kb). If you have the mod zip, go into the zip and extract out that specific bundle file, it'll have a similar folder path like the 'cache' folder on a client. Take that file and replace the one that's installed on the server in the mod's folder. Should then "update" the file. You will need to stop your server and restart it obviously.

3.8.3 should have fixed the issues with clients downloading the bundles. I had no issues from my testing/rollout to my server (I had to remove the Async bundle loader mod on my end to get to main menu, but it should work since I talked to mod author and we narrowed it down to something with my configs. But everything else is oddly working... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). I cleared out my 'cache' folder on my local client machine I play on several times to make sure it grabs all the files like before and had no errors. Most of my friends have able to have client auto-download the bundles with no issue. Worst case, someone who's managed to launch to main menu grab their 'cache' folder and zip up for everyone else to use.

One final thing to note is if you want to use the 4 alternative scopes the mod has it seems it cannot be done client-side, has to be added to server to apply. Not an issue if Solo, but if playing with others you may want to see which they prefer before just blanket applying for everyone. Tried to see if I can have it applied locally but client keeps downloading what the server has, so assume there's a file comparison check on "launch" for cached mod files between server and client.

  • Hi,

I recently installed the scope & red dot overhaul, but I'm encountering an issue with Burris Fast Fire 3. The whole glass of the sight is red. It seems the "dot" is occupying the whole glass... Making it impossible to aim with it.

I searched over SPT discord and the forums for a solution but haven't found any...

Let me know if I need to submit any more details in regards to this.WwIw4eY

  • Noticed the 1x6 tango had a extremely high sensitivity on 6x, I imagine its because it was added to Tarkov after the owner stopped updating. If you want to use the tango there is an easy fix, the sight picture is still the same, not revamped, but the sens will be similar to other scopes. Did this really quick so its pretty simple, not sure on why the file system is as it is but this does work.

    • Thanks a bunch for this -- the TANGO is my favorite scope, great to have a fix for it.

    • Thank you so much for this!! This was bothering me a lot im really thankful for the fix. I noticed too the same thing was happening with the Vortex Razor scope so if anyone else needs to fix it all i did was copy what he did, but replace the item id and name with that for the razor scope and it fixed it.

      let vortexrazor = item["618ba27d9008e4636a67f61d"];

      vortexrazor._props.AimSensitivity[0] = [

0.1, // Sensitivity when zoomed, closer to 0 for slower

      0.7

      ]

      ^ for the .ts file

      let vortexrazor = item["618ba27d9008e4636a67f61d"];

      vortexrazor._props.AimSensitivity[0] = [

0.1, // Sensitivity when zoomed, closer to 0 for slower

      0.7

      ];

^ for the .js file ( I put both of these the line above the adjustment for the sig tango scope )

Thank you so much for this it helped a lot this was bugging me.

  • I figured out why it wasn't working for me, and this might work for others. Change the name of the folder to ACOG4Life-OpticRework in the user/mods folder. Remove the "-SPT-380" from the end.

I don't know a lot about coding for mods, but I am guessing there is a file somewhere pointing to that folder and expecting it to have a specific name, and the issue is solved by changing it to that.

I am using Mod Organizer, but I believe the path should be:

    *your spt folder*/user/mods/ACOG4Life-OpticRework

All my reticles are good now.

    Thumbs Up 1
    • I had to go into package.json and change "akiVersion": "3.5.x" to "akiVersion": "3.8.x" for it to work.

    • I downloaded the mod first time and did what Laser said and it seems to work perfectly. Only problem I have is the EOTech magnifier combo shoots super high above the reticle. I been sticking with the Spectre and it feels great. Wish the devs made the sights like this originally as it looks fantastic and is much more realistic than the crap they were going for.

      Thumbs Up 1
    • @Pyro Interesting. I hope me changing the folder wasn't a bandaid that got an older version working for some reason, I am not sure how that works. Just to be safe I'll change package.json as well.

@SilentFart69 lol name. Glad it's working!

    • Oh so its this mod that is causing the eotech hybrid sights to shoot high af. was confused if i was just missing or things were super desynced

  • I do not understand how to install this? Do you need the original mod or not? What do I do with the files that I unzip and where do I unzip them? Putting any of the content inside user/mods makes server send failure messages

  • How do we install this mod? It says "Put the "ACOG4life - Optic Rework" mod folder into user/mods as usual." but the zip contains various folders and some .json files.

Do I put it as is in the mods folder or create a folder named ACOG4life - Optic Rework folder and put the contents of the zip in it?

    Clarification required :)

    • see my comment above. I am using mod manager but I believe you want to put the whole folder into your mods folder after changing the name.

    • Alright, thanks!
