Uniform Aim for Tarkov

uniform-Aim-353.png

Q: What does this mod do?

A: Have you ever noticed how ridiculously slow NcSTAR ADO backup RDS is? How SpecterDR's sensitivity varies between x1, x4, and BUIS? This mod fixes it, and many more!

Q: Why not just change the sensitivity in-game?

A: All sights and weapons in Tarkov use static hand-picked sensitivity multipliers. BSG's approach makes it impossible to consistently match sensitivities across zoom levels and player settings like Field of View. This mod offers a procedural solution that accounts for these variables to offer a superior gameplay experience.

Additional information on mechanics and math behind the mod can be found here: Battlefield's Uniform Soldier Aiming and Rainbow Six: Siege ADS update.

How to install:

  • Drag and drop the notGreg.UniformAim.dll files to /BepInEx/plugins
  • If Fontaine's Realism Mod is installed, the Uniform-Realism_Bridge.dll must be present in the /plugins/ folder.

Configuration:

Settings are available in BepInEx Configuration Menu (default: F12).

Additional information can be found in the README.md file provided with the download.

    • The plugin should now grab Field of View and Aiming Sensitivity values from the settings menu. These values are updated when Tarkov's settings menu is opened.
    • Plugin sensitivity setting is now applied in conjunction with the in-game setting for much finer control.
    • Horizontal FOV option has been removed and is now the default mode of operation.

  • Any way to update? Please!!!

  • Just a head's up, Realism mod has changed a lot and no longer touches sensitivity. However this will likely conflict with FOV Fix since it also changes aim sensitivity

No idea, can't test right now.

  • Please update! Tarkov is unplayable without this mod ;(

  • It indeed doesn't work on 3.5.5 correctly: the sensitivity is raised up to space.

Also, infinite running bug most usual steps: on half- (or full) ADS you hold running button, and there it goes.

    Thinking 1
    • i also had this same issue, also if youre aiming down sights and and try to switch weapons, your character gets locked onto the gun, able to shoot and reload but cant do anything else, cant even move items in inventory. this is on 3.5.5 with fontaines recoil mod.

    • I have the same issue, and tweak options with F12 doesn't change anything

    • same

  • Got this running on 3.5.5

  • why for 354 it does feel like the sensity working? i had coefficient 133 and sens at 2 but it feel the same ?

    • Is your in-game console and/or BepInEx logging console full of errors mentioning this plugin?

no both in-game and server console no error msg to my untrained eye

    • Server console and bepinex console are different things - please enable Advanced settings in F12 menu, then enable logging console in BepInEx settings.

My best guess is that the RecoilStandalone is at fault here - while RealismMod has received a compatibility patch, RecoilStandalone might not work by the same rules. Please check if the issue persists without this plugin installed and I'll see what can be done to improve the compatibility of these mods.

    • sry but which is the option to log and where can see the log is it printed in-game console?

      options

    • A separate console window (similar to the server) should open when launching the game, it will not be shown in the in-game console.

It would be the best to check if the issue still happens when only the Uniform Aim plugin is present - it's most likely a conflict with another mod.

  • essential mod

  • Hey notGreg, I've just downloaded the .zip from the repo and there are 2 .dlls and none of them named "TarkovUniformAim.dll".. only "notGreg.UniformAim.dll" and "Uniform-Realism_Bridge.dll".. do we move both into the bepinex/plugins or one?

Maybe you could update the Overview page as is it kinda out of date.

    Thanks for the work!

    • Thanks, I'll take a look.

UniformAim.dll is required for the mod to function.

The other dll is a compatibility patch for Fontaine's Realism Mod, which allows the effects of Uniform Aim to work with his tweaks.

      Hope it helps.

    • Yeah it made sense to me, but we're still waiting for Fontaine to update Realism to 3.5.4 because i's not working at the moment. Only with 3.5.3. Thanks for clarifying.

  • Is the ADS/eternal sprint bug fixed in this build?

    • There's a chance the "infinite sprint" bug happens when incompatible versions of the plugin and SPT are used.

Please let me know if you find a reliable reproduction steps for the issue and I'll take a look.

  • If u accept suggestions. I would rather prefer to select the aim sensitivity for each range of magnifications.

Like iron and reflex separated from the rest, and then a exponential or multiplicative system for 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 6, and so on.

    - Example of what I always edit every update:

(This is my own config in Items.json Sadly NcStar stills bugged no matter what)

    [Magnification - Sensitivity]

    Iron/Reflex - 0.75

    1x - 0.7 (LPVOs)

    1.5x - 0.65

    2x - 0.6

    2.25x - 0.575

    2.5x - 0.55

    2.8x - 0.425

    3x - 0.4

    3.5x - 0.35

    4x - 0.3

    5x - 0.275

    6x - 0.25

    7x - 0.225

    8x - 0.2

    9x - 0.175

    10x - 0.15

    12x - 0.125

    14x - 0.12

    16x - 0.115

    20x - 0.11

    24x - 0.1

    • Thank you for the feedback!

I'll keep it in mind, not making any promises though. Your best bet for now is to adjust the Coefficient value.

      Heart 1
  • OH THANK YOU SO MUCH! Tarkov is so terrible without this beautiful mod.

    Heart 1
  • Ohohohoho thanks notGreg for the update, appreciate the work you put into this!

  • i can confirm that the fixes in TheSparta's pull request do fix the plugin. you'll need to build it yourself or get ahold of notGreg

    Heart 1
    • or i can just shoot you the plugin if you want. get ahold of me

  • As others have noted: Sliders have no affect - this is also causing a "permanent sprint" bug as well.

  • Unfortunately seems broken as of 3.5.2/3.5.3 sliders don't seem to do anything and sensitivity increases to very high levels when using a scope, at least with the SpectreDR that I have tried so far.

No doubt notgreg will update this fantastic mod when they get the chance

  • Love this mod! Sadly the mod isn't compatible anymore with 3.5.2, the slider don't have an effect anymore and the ads sensitivity stays high.

  • Am I crazy, or does this just not do anything? Coefficient maxed or at zero, nothing changes.

    • Doesn't seem to work with realism, console full of errors with startingSens or something

    • I've worked with Fontaine to resolve this issue, if you are using the Realism Mod, please download the compatibility patch from the dev.sp-tarkov page.

Please let me know if you encounter any further issues.

      Thumbs Up 1
    • Installed the compat patch and still seeming to have this issue with some of my optics. Will keep you updated with tweaks if I figure it out :D

  • The sensitivity under high power sight is too fast

    • You can adjust the value of the coefficient in the F12 menu.

  • Does this work with 3.5.0?

  • Using along Realism mod, encountered a strange error in-raid, my interface completely disappeared, couln't interract with anything and open the menus, even ESC one. Only console worked, checked the logs, and 've seen this:

    Escape-From-Tarkov-2023-02-12-15-25-32.png

    • Please make sure the compatibility patch has been installed. Let me know if the issue persists regardless of the patch.

    • Thank you, I missed that one!

  • Hi there. I'm not sure if I've done something wrong, or if it's perhaps a compatibility issue, but my F12 menu for Uniform Aim only has two options: coefficient and sensitivity. I don't have a slider for setting the FOV value.

Also the coefficient slider maxes out 200 when the 21:9 resolution uses a coefficient of 233.

    • FOV value slider is no longer necessary as the FOV value is pulled from the in-game settings.

I've increased the coefficient maximum value to 500, please redownload the latest version of the plugin from dev.sp-tarkov.com

      Thumbs Up 1
    • Much appreciated!

  • Dang, this mod no longer fully works in AKI 3.4.0 unfortunately. Although the general Uniform Aim still exists, the sensitivities at higher FOVs feel too extreme. The F12 settings don't seem to change anything either anymore.

It's extremely difficult to use scopes with higher magnifications like 12x as the sensitivity is too high. Would recommend to remove this from your plugins folder until updated.

    Thanks notGreg.

  • makes 3x and higher toooooslow or i think it doesnt work for me...installed in plugin server

    • Try adjusting the Coefficient in F12 menu. If the mod doesn't appear in BepInEx configurator then it wasn't installed correctly.

  • A weird thing I've noticed about this mod, it doesn't seem to affect the G36 iron sights on the 3x and 1.5x carry handle sights. This is most noticeable on the 3x, and makes using its iron sights very sluggish.
My hypothesis is that the mod treats both parts of the handle as the same "scope".

  • Seems like this only works optimally under specific graphics settings. I assume the grain from sharpness filters are breaking this for me, but often it doesn't update the sensitivity correctly when i ADS, especially when switching weapons. Normally i have to look at the sky to get it to update.

  • This ruins my FPS when I ads. Like, from 100 to 4. Every time. Tested multiple times. with it uninstalled, no problem, installed, massive fps drop.

    • Hey!

Thank you for using my mod! I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with it. Could you please answer a few questions to help me identify the issue?

      • What SPT-AKI and mod versions are you using?
      • Are you using any other mods? Please try setting up a profile with no other mods and check if the issue still happens.
      • Does the performance drop every time you ADS or is it affected by weapons/sights/locations?
      • Please enable the BepInEx console logging and let me know if there are any errors showing up in there.

Please feel free to contact me on Discord at !Greg#3367

    • Same here. Rolled back to 1.1.2 and it works just fine. SPK-AKI 3.2.1, FPS drops no matter what gun or sight I use, even for collimators.

    • Again, same here. SPT-AKI V3.2.2, Uniform Aim V1.1.3. Tested with clean SPT-AKI install, no mods or other BepInEx plugins installed.

Performance on all maps with the exception of factory sits between 1 and 4 FPS. On factory, between 35 and 15 FPS is common with this mod installed. Performance seems unaffected by ADS, sight presence or location, or weapon.

      BepInEx console shows no errors.

    • I have been able to identify the source of the issue, version 1.1.3 has been temporarily pulled from the site. Please roll back to the last stable version for the time being.

  • Is there a way or possibility to add compability to sights from mods e.g. SamSWAT's ones?

    • Hey!

This plugin shouldn't require any patches specific to sights added by mods.

You can verify if it's working by turning on the Debug Logging in the mod's settings and watching the BepInEx Debug Console.

Please feel free to link the particular mod you are using here or contact me on Discord @ !Greg#3367 if you'd encounter any issues and I'll take a look!

    • Got to play the game finally, checked out Leupold D-Evo mod and it totally doesn't work with higher collimator sight. Also, for some reason, ELCAN Specter doesn't allow now to use iron sights, which could be useful with T7 googles…

    • I'll look into the Leupold D-EVO mod, I suspect it's the same issue Ultima MP-155 had.

Are you perhaps using GeffHannigan’s Optic Rework? My plugin shouldn't affect the ability to change scope modes, while the Sight Overhaul disables BUIS for Specter if I recall correctly.

      Thumbs Up 1
  • Hello. Okay, I'm a bit confused. Your Version Update comment "The plugin should now grab Field of View and Aiming Sensitivity values from the settings menu. These values are updated when Tarkov's **settings** menu is opened."

I start the game and go into game Settings. The default FOV for me is 50. I open your plugin [F12] and see your FOV setting is 75. I close it. I open the game settings again, and change it to 60 and SAVE. I open your plugin, and it still shows 75? No matter if I change your plugin value or the game settings, your plugin is never the same as the game's one. What am I missing here? What should it be doing? Thanks

    • Hey!

I seem to have replicated the issue - the value will not update if the player character doesn't exist in some capacity. Should you enter the Hideout or start a Raid and adjust the in-game settings, the value should update - you can verify by enabling Debug logging and pay attention to the In-Game FOV value (1st row) in case it's a problem with the Configuration menu.

BepInEx Logging console can be enabled via BepInEx settings in F12 menu once Debug mode (top of the menu) has been enabled. It is also written to %SPTInstallPath%\BepInEx\LogOutput.log file.

Please let me know if the issue persists in those scenarios.

      ---

This issue should be resolved as of version 1.1.1, please let me know if you encounter any problems!

  • I like the idea of this mod. Is there any chance you could have the FOV slider extended, as I am also using SamSWAT.FOV?

    • Hello!

SamSWAT's Increased HUD FOV mod doesn't appear to affect camera FOV (FOV values remained unchanged after this mod was installed under SPT 3.0.0).

It should work fine so long the in-game FOV and plugin FOV values match.

      Hope it helps!

    • Samswat have Custom Fov now, it can be around 150. And i mean ingame slider will have this values. So technically your mod conflict with SwatFov, i have difference betwenn 75 game fov and values into UAIM and 90 fov with Custom Fov and same Uaim settings. AKI 3.1.1 for sure

    • Hi, sorry for not being clear - the increased FOV mod now also has camera FOV which can be up to 150 as the person above said. So that's why I asked, because the slider for your mod only goes up to 75, whereas I have mine set to 80!

Don't worry, it's not a bummer, just wondered if you were able to make it work for any FOV value outside of the normal game's range. I appreciate your effort and thank you for the mod!

    • Thanks for making me aware of that mod! I'll look into it.

    • You're amazing notGreg, thanks so much for implementing that. Look forward to testing!

      Thumbs Up 1
